The Opportunity
At CTG we generate data at scale using cutting edge single cell technologies. We are seeking a Principal Project Manager who remains composed in the face of large-scale profiling efforts to generate foundational data and possesses the meticulous coordination required to manage the many moving parts of grand-scale scientific initiatives.
As a Principal Project Manager within the Cell and Tissue Genomics (CTG) department, you will serve as the essential bridge between high-level scientific strategy and large-scale laboratory execution. Your role will be to help enable these large scale data generation projects and to track their progress.
Study Design & Planning: Partner with Principal Investigators (PIs) and FDFM leadership to translate ambitious research goals into actionable detailed project plans with clear deliverables and, detailed timelines Pipeline Orchestration: Manage the end-to-end projects, ensuring critical milestones are achieved during the pilot,scale-up and validation phases.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as the "connective tissue" between bench scientists,computational/AI scientists, regulatory affairs, and external stakeholders to ensure organizational alignment.
Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify operational risks—and develop robust contingency plans.
Protocol & Regulatory Compliance: Manage the oversight, submission and renewal of internal oversight protocols. Financial Stewardship: Monitor research expenditures and personnel against funding to ensure all spending remains aligned with approved budgetary line items and institutional fiscal cycles.
Who You Are
Ph.D. in a Biological Science (Molecular Biology, Genetics, Immunology, Oncology or a related field) is required.
Project Management : 5+ years of experience overseeing complex projects involving clinical tissue samples, specifically focused on single-cell assays and spatial profiling. Proven ability to harmonize workflows across multidisciplinary teams, bridging the gap between wet-lab operations and computational analysis.
Bench Expertise: Minimum of 4 years of hands-on wet-lab experience. You must intimately understand the "rhythm" of the lab to manage its outputs effectively.
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) standards, BSL-2/3 laboratory requirements and IRBs.
Software Proficiency: Expert-level command of project management tools (e.g., Miro, Trello, or MS Project)
Exceptional organizational skills with a proven track record of managing high-volume, high-complexity large scale profiling efforts.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
Preferred
PMP (Project Management Professional) or CAPM certification is highly preferred.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $136,100 to $252,700. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
