The Opportunity:

The eCoE is focusing on three areas delivering a high-level of financial expertise, relevant insights, and an entrepreneurial mindset that enables stakeholders to make business decisions. The eCoE is a talent engine for Finance through capability building and network building. There are three focus areas within eCoE:

We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Subject Matter Expert (SME) to serve as a critical link between local financial operations and the global FP&A framework. This role is responsible for ensuring the seamless integration of high-quality, audit-ready financial data while delivering meaningful insights that inform decision-making across the US Pharma Commercial P&L.

The ideal candidate will go beyond reporting to synthesize complex financial data into clear, actionable insights, translating performance drivers across Sales and OpEx and articulating the broader business impact. Acting as a trusted partner to both local and global stakeholders, this role requires strong executive presence, deep technical expertise, and the ability to navigate and influence within a matrixed organization.

Balancing both strategic and operational responsibilities, this position plays a key role in shaping analytical standards, enhancing reporting processes, and maintaining a unified, accurate financial framework that supports enterprise-wide decision-making.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary SME and consolidator for assigned areas, ensuring accurate, timely, and seamless financial reporting into the global framework.

  • Partner with FP&A leadership and budget owners to align local plans with global P&L commitments.

  • Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights, highlighting key drivers, risks, and opportunities.

  • Connect Sales and OpEx performance to provide a holistic view of the business and inform decision-making.

  • Deliver high-quality variance analysis and deep-dive insights to support planning cycles and executive reviews.

  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity by validating inputs and delivering clean, audit-ready submissions.

  • Bridge technical accounting requirements with FP&A standards to drive consistency and efficiency in reporting.

  • Influence and collaborate with cross-functional and global stakeholders in a matrixed environment.

  • Proactively identify issues, challenge assumptions, and support data-driven business decisions.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred, with 8–10 years of relevant experience in FP&A, finance strategy, or related roles (pharma/biotech preferred).

  • 6+ years of core FP&A experience, including financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and month-end close.

  • 3+ years of experience operating in complex, matrixed environments across multiple business units, therapeutic areas, or functions.

  • Proven ability to influence and present to senior local and global leadership, with strong executive presence.

  • Strong enterprise mindset, with the ability to connect regional performance to broader P&L and strategic outcomes.

  • Advanced analytical and storytelling skills, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.

  • Experience building scenario models to evaluate trade-offs, risks, and strategic decisions.

  • Demonstrated track record of improving data quality, driving process efficiencies, and enabling cross-functional alignment.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of San Francisco, CA is $130,800 - $243,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
