Department Summary
The Population Science & Health (PS&H) medical team plays a key role as a strategic partner across US Medical, helping to ensure population health considerations are embedded into our work to inform, strengthen, and accelerate impact. This includes bringing forward insights on patient populations, care delivery, and community needs to enhance how we design, implement, and scale our efforts.
This position is based in South San Francisco, CA / On-Site.
The Opportunity
Partner with cross functional stakeholders to support the development of standardized population health care gap reports by synthesizing information from multiple sources to identify actionable insights for therapeutic area teams across the portfolio
Conduct research to identify and quantify treatment disparities and root causes driving care gaps from patient, healthcare professional (HCP) and health system perspectives.
Work with medical teams to pull through actionable insights to strategic and tactical planning
Partner with the medical education and communication teams to update external content to align with population health core messaging
Program Highlights
Intensive 6 months, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
Program start dates are in September (Fall)
A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.
Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

Who You Are (Requirements)
Required Education: You meet one of the following criteria:
Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree (enrolled student) or must have attained a Bachelor's Degree
Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student) or must have attained a Master's Degree.
Required Majors: Public Health, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Policy, or related Life Science/Healthcare fields.
Required Skills:
Demonstrated strong analytical and research skills in quantitative data analysis (e.g., assessing treatment disparities).
Experience synthesizing complex information and translating it into actionable strategic recommendations.
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and drafting technical reports.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $24- $40/hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
