This internship position is located in South San Francisco, CA / On-Site.
The Opportunity
Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Author and formalize comprehensive SOPs and best-practice playbooks to standardize how council insights, partnerships updates, and symposia learnings are captured and shared across the team.
Integrate Cross-Role Insights: Map overlapping stakeholder networks and build internal tracking systems to ensure cross-functional alignment between council feedback, national policy coalitions, and event outcomes.
Foster Team Collaboration & Synergy: Introduce information-sharing methods and internal workshop structures to ensure the Symposia, Council, and Partnership leads operate with maximum visibility and collaborative efficiency.
Drive Team Innovation: Propose and implement creative ideas, collaboration tools and workshop formats to streamline information sharing and enhance day-to-day synergy among team leads.
Assist with Symposia Programming: Support the curation of event agendas, speaker briefs, and run-of-show materials to integrate community and policy insights into major national convenings.
Track Engagement & Impact Metrics: Utilize data tools to monitor partnership alignments, track council participation, and evaluate event success to drive continuous team improvement.
Program Highlights
Intensive 12 months, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
Program start dates are in September (Fall)
A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.
Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

Who You Are (Requirements)
Required Education: You meet one of the following criteria:
Must have attained a Bachelor's degree (recent graduates not currently enrolled in a grad program).
Must be pursuing a Master's degree (enrolled student).
Must have attained a Master's degree.
Required Majors: Public Health, Public Policy, Communications, Healthcare Administration, Event Management, or a closely related field.
Required Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to tailor messages for diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Strong organizational and project management capabilities, with an aptitude for building structured processes or documentation (e.g., SOPs/guides).
Comfort working with qualitative data and translating abstract ideas or feedback into clear, actionable, and structured insights.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional team settings and build strong interpersonal relationships.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Familiarity with health equity, healthcare access, population health, or the biopharmaceutical policy landscape.
Experience or high interest in managing advisory councils, community outreach, or organizing multi-stakeholder strategic events.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $31- $40/hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
