The Digital and Technology team at General Mills stands as the largest and foremost unit, dedicated to exploring the latest trends and innovations in technology while leading the adoption of cutting-edge technologies across the organization. Collaborating closely with global business teams, the focus is on understanding business models and identifying opportunities to leverage technology for increased efficiency and disruption. Purpose of the role

The Commercial Capabilities team is seeking a Senior software developer to join the team in support of our NRO (National retail organization) business and other related areas. The role would be responsible for providing support for business admin and information screens which drive functionality for hundreds of field reps, enhance those screens as business needs change, create internal capabilities, develop, and schedule nightly jobs to refresh data, and migrate existing screens from older solutions to a new tech stack. To achieve this, the engineer would analyze existing functionality, learn from partner developers and analysts, clarify requirements, and collaborate directly with analysts or business partners.

The ideal candidate should have effective communication skills, demonstrated ability to learn modern technologies, solid business acumen, bias towards documenting and knowledge sharing, and be able to work and make decisions in a demanding environment. In addition, the ability to teach and mentor existing staff grow their skills in new technical areas is desired.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Accountable for learning third party applications, internal reporting, system and business process, rules, and logic, as well as developing knowledge of system architecture
  • Work directly with the business Analyst and Business, apply sound technical solutions to build and test functional specifications and implement and maintain reporting and functionality.
  • Provide timely, personal, and efficient response to user problems and inquiries.
  • Work within agile product team to develop user stories and tasks within the analyst's workstream.
  • Apply Agile Methodology to deploy change requirements via preferred methods accounting for priorities, time, and resources.
  • Perform code quality checks and clearly communicate to business teams existing problems with proposed solutions and timing.
  • Analyzing data sources to determine how to connect them in our environment.
  • Own documentation, troubleshooting, support, and coordination with team.
  • Help other developers on team & collaborate with all stakeholders of the team to deliver key priorities.
  • Continuously develop knowledge of evolving best practices through self-development and other educational opportunities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 8 years of software development in a collaborative corporate environment (8+ years preferred)
  • The candidate should have working and fluency in
  • .NET Core, C#, Entity Framework or Dapper, SQL, MVC, Docker, Kubernetes, Blazor Webassembly.
  • Should have knowledge and understanding on DevOps and be able to configure Jenkins/GitHub Actions and knowledge on Azure DevOps.
  • Experienced in at least one JavaScript framework technology (Example: React JS, Vue).
  • Implemented SOLID principles.
  • Have knowledge and have used some of the Design patterns in their code.
  • Additional skills, like knowledge of Python, BigQuery
  • Should have understanding and knowledge on cloud fundamentals and tools and have used either GCP, Azure or AWS.
  • Candidates preferred with working knowledge of Blazor webassembly, PostgreSQL and have worked in GCP (GKE, BigQuery) is an added advantage.
  • Experience building transactional interfaces to view and change data sets that ultimately reside in Datawarehouse.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and identify problem trends.
  • Effective communication skills- verbal and written with ability to present complex messages and trade-offs and tell a compelling story.
  • Self-managing, results-oriented, and capable of leading multiple initiatives simultaneously through rigorous prioritization.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, influencing and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and support systems, as well as partner with technical team to design and implement.
  • Excellent problem solver with ability to lead the team to push the solution and progress.
  • Self-managing, results-oriented, and capable of leading multiple initiatives simultaneously through rigorous prioritization
  • Excellent analytical skills & stakeholder management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/Electronics/Electrical from Tier 1 institute

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of Object-Oriented programming skills and design principals
  • .NET Core, C#, Entity Framework or Dapper, SQL, MVC, Docker, Kubernetes, Blazor Webassembly.
  • Knowledge and experience with Understanding of Commercial/Sales business area, Trade promotion management etc.
