The Digital and Technology team at General Mills stands as the largest and foremost unit, dedicated to exploring the latest trends and innovations in technology while leading the adoption of cutting-edge technologies across the organization. Purpose of the role

The Digital and Technology team of General Mills India Centre is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to contribute to the Global Digital Transformation initiative at General Mills in capacity of a D&T Analyst II – Data Stewardship. This role will report into D&T Manager - Data Stewardship, GDGS team in India and functionally collaborate with stakeholders across the Enterprise teams. This role has ownership and accountability for executing data governance processes and standards for the Supply Chain Demand Planning Domain in the International Markets and other SC data domains and related process areas. This individual will develop and support the data policies, rules and metrics for their respective functional data domain.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead Data Governance initiatives within the domain, acting as single point of contact for major transformations.
  • Lead the development of data standards, rules, and quality metrics for data domain in partnership with Data elements owners, Data Governance Consultants, Quality Analysts, Operations team (data maintainers), and stakeholder groups across GMI.
  • Enforce and champion Data Governance standards within the Supply Chain Demand Planning domain. Ensure Data Quality standards are met within the domain.
  • Manage structural master data field changes and new requirements to ensure master data is of high quality and fit for purpose.
  • Understand, document, and inform GDGS on existing regional data environment and determine what is regionally required and where the global opportunities exist.
  • Primary point of communication and collaboration between Global Data Governance Organization and Domain business partners.
  • Identify and collaborate with business data owners and stakeholders to drive data consistency and quality.
  • Leverage Global Data Governance processes, tools, and guidelines. Guide project teams on data-related requirements.
  • Apply a critical lens on regional processes and apply best practices from the region and globally.
  • Consolidate and communicate all data activities occurring within the region.
  • Tightly partner with GDGS peers, Master Data Domain teams, Data Stewards and Regional Data Owners to operationalize, monitor, and evolve Data Governance practices.
  • Provide recommendations and supporting documentation for new or proposed data standards, business rules and policy (in conjunction with) the Governance Council
  • Ensure data is documented in Enterprise Catalogue
  • Understand data lineage and provide data flow consultation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of related experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Exposure or experience with SAP, OMP
  • Expertise in domain-specific master data processes and understanding the purpose of the data, including the impact of data changes or issues
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change within their domain
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience and competence in leading, influencing, coaching and mentoring others
  • Self-starter and self-motivated requiring little support from others
  • Attention to detail with the ability to identify patterns and inconsistencies
  • Tenacity to find and resolve issues
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Data Governance strategies and processes
  • Experience with Collibra, Alation, Winshuttle and/or other data governance solutions
