Purpose of the role
The Digital and Technology team of General Mills India Centre is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to contribute to the Global Digital Transformation initiative at General Mills in capacity of an SAP BW Technical Engineer II. This role will report to SAP Data Manager in India and functionally collaborate with global SAP Data team. It is an Individual contributor role. In this role, you will Develop BW models as per the requirements coming from product team and suggesting best solutions to implement the same.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
As a Technical Consultant SAP BW/4 HANA, you will analyse the technical feasibility of specialist concepts, record customer requirements, create data processing concepts and implement these in stable, scalable, and high-performance SAP Data Warehouse solutions. Depending on the focus of your work, you will carry out the following tasks:
- Contribute to the development of the current BW landscape and architecture by modelling, designing, developing, testing and implementing the appropriate backend and front-end structures needed to meet business reporting requirements
- Work with Functional team on the gathering of business requirements
- Develop, enhance, and maintain custom and pre-delivered extractors to perform data extractions, transformations, and application of business rules
- Experience on BW R/3 extraction for SAP SD, PP, MM and COPA module
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for BW and BOBJ system
- Monitor process chains and address data load failures
- Advising our clients in different sectors on sustainable BW-wide target architectures
- Development in ABAP OO/AMDP and HANA native
- Collaborate on roll-outs and system changes (upgrades, patches, HANA migration)
- Experience on BOBJ and setup monthly BOBJ report broadcast when it is requested by user
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have bachelors or equivalent degree with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience
- Experienced in 2-3 implementations project and 4-5 Support/Enhancement Projects
- Experience in SAP HANA modelling and scripting
- Strong experience on SAP BW on HANA or SAP BW4HANA modelling and building end-to-end data flows with A-DSOs, Open ODSs, Composite Provider, AMDP scripting and queries
- Strong experience in native HANA modelling – CDS, SQL Scripting, Graphical view-modelling, SDA extraction
- Design, build data flows, develop Process chains to load and monitor data loading
- Implement performance tuning techniques in SAP BW/HANA
- Hands-on expertise SAP BW-IP - Standard and Custom Planning Functions, Planning Sequences, Filters, Data Slices, Characteristic relationships, Currency Translation, Planning Layouts
- Good knowledge in ABAP/AMDP is desirable
- Expertise in SAP BI, BO (WebI, IDT/Universes)
- Experience in integrating data from Non-SAP system to BW
- Good Understanding in functional area and associated business process – SD, MM, COPA, FI
- Effective verbal and written communication and influencing skills at the tactical level.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Can do, positive attitude and commitment to a team delivery approach.
- Expert Level – SAP BW on HANA, SAP BW4HANA, SAP BW – AMDP/ABAP
- Intermediate Level – SAP BW-IP, Native HANA Modelling, SQL, SAP BOBJ
- Comfortable presenting to senior leaders
- Effectively manage stakeholder relationship
- Expertise across SD, MM, COPA domain
- Education – Full time graduation from an accredited university (Mandatory- Note: This is the minimum education criteria which cannot be altered)
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent relevant discipline
