JOB OVERVIEW

Function Overview

GIC Sales Strategy & Intelligence team partners with our global General Mills sales teams in providing them with analytical horsepower and enable business continuity so they can focus on core activities – Selling, driving distribution gains and optimizing merchandising plans to deliver sales volume targets. We enable customer, pricing & promotion strategies across the global markets through our focused capabilities of Sales Execution, Trade & Strategic Revenue Management and Category Management. Teams within function are aligned to the above focused capabilities for each of our markets and each team member specializes in domains of Advanced Analytics, Visual Insights & Planogramming.

Purpose of the role

The Role will be responsible to support the business teams across categories and regions in the US markets. The team member will complete several key responsibilities such as trade reconciliation, basic analysis and turn-key reporting.

The longer-term vision for this profile is to ultimately support a wide variety of reporting & presentation needs including building excel templates from scratch, initiating value adds and providing insights by developing a strong category & trade knowledge, proprietary tool proficiency and technical expertise – the role encompasses data mining from multiple sources/tools to data harmonization to visualization combined with robust quality audit and documentation.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Deliver Standard Reports (60% of time)

o Master and own the monthly deliverables in the form of reports & presentations and send quality output in a timely manner

o Develop business and trade knowledge to enable conceptualizing R&A and help build valuable, crisp reports from scratch turnkey reporting with HMM

o Contribute to the execution of complex, best-in-class reports and tools

o Upgrade monthly deliverables based on business requirements, ideate complex fixes & create functional, efficient reports

o Avoid redundancy in reporting and call out best practices to the team

· Delivering Adhoc Requests | Build Reports from scratch (20% of time)

o Build templates with dynamic dashboards and visuals and upgrade products/markets/time frames per business requirements

o Work alongside of peers and inculcate best practices and elevate the team’s ability to tackle business questions with value adds

o Own end to end building & execution of tools, reports, templates & presentations

· Technical Expertise (20% of time)

o Actively learn and apply intermediate/advanced level of expertise in MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, Tableau, GCP, SQL, JDA/Apollo/spaceman, Demand transfer/Retail link, Nielsen etc.

o Build a robust audit system for all reporting activity

o Build an awareness of existing macro's in the team and re-use to make data mining, data harmonization and data audit efficient and effective

o Undergo trainings: As recommended and self-initiated refresher trainings to keep abreast of tool dynamics and their functional as well as tactical applications

· Continuous Improvement mindset to deliver Executional Excellence, Stakeholder and Project Management (10% of time)

o Ensure TAT is upheld via awareness on process requirements, meeting benchmark time estimates and through articulate expectation settings with the stakeholder

o Guarantee data quality and accuracy through thorough comprehension of request, accurate application of tools/platforms with an eye for detail and a robust data & logic check

o CI Mindset: develop a lens of continuous improvement for the projects, process & larger team

o Stakeholder Management: Engage with the stakeholders to understand the requirement, explain tactical application in our reports/process, cross reference projects and present final output upon project completion

o Project Management: Juggle multiple projects seamlessly starting with project scoping, to tackling hurdles to timely communication/iterations with peers and stakeholders to high impact completion and presentation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education – Full Time graduation from an accredited university (Mandatory).
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail, ability to complete given tasks with accuracy.
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced & changing environment.
  • Continuous Improvement mindset with technical agility.
  • Multitasking ability - learn and implement a host of tools/databases and software’s/platforms.
  • Collaborate with peers to align with the team’s vision

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Full Time graduation from an accredited university (Mandatory)/ Masters
  • 1 - 2 years of Reporting experience.
  • Experience with market data analysis tools is required (experience working with ACNielsen, IRI, Point of Sales data preferred.)
  • Preferred Major Area of Study: Any Stream (preferably Business Management, Analytics, Statistics, Marketing, Retail)
