THE DETAILS…

The Manager, Change & Team Effectiveness will be a leader in our Org Agility and Transformation (OAT) Center of Excellence (CoE), driving vision, strategy, and execution for Change Management, Organizational Design, and Team Effectiveness across the global enterprise. This role will provide thought leadership in these areas, developing and deploying tools, frameworks, and capabilities. The Manager will also partner with leaders across the organization to guide, support, and consult on large-scale change and transformation efforts.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with strong collaboration skills, a passion for transformation, and a proven ability to drive results in a dynamic, rapidly evolving environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and inspire others to foster organizational agility and deliver results in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Coach, mentor, and drive success through cross-pillar and cross-functional teams.
  • Oversee internal and external resources dedicated to change and transformation initiatives.

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Stay informed of industry best practices in change management, team effectiveness, and organizational design, integrating innovative approaches into strategies.
  • Lead the design, development, and execution of frameworks, processes, and tools that support change management, organizational design, and team effectiveness across all business segments.
  • Partner with business leaders to develop and execute change strategies that align with organizational priorities and ensure successful delivery of key initiatives.
  • Analyze market trends and internal data to identify capability gaps and define priorities that drive business growth.
  • Drive organizational culture enablers, ensuring alignment between cultural shifts and long-term business priorities.
  • Continuously scan the industry for innovative technologies, tools, and processes to enhance change management practices, including leveraging platforms like Valence to optimize transformation efforts.

Capability Building & Learning Development

  • Nurture and grow the Change Community of Practice (CoP) focused on building change capability within the organization, enabling teams to lead their own change initiatives, and become more self-sufficient in managing transformation.
  • Provide expertise in creating learning strategies that support organizational change, transformation, organizational design, and team effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Learning & Development teams to design and deliver impactful learning experiences that build critical skills and capabilities.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive learning plans, incorporating internal and external content, modern delivery methods, and technology solutions.
  • Implement sustainment strategies to ensure continuous development.
  • Facilitate sessions that promote collaborative problem-solving and strategic thinking, helping teams adapt to new ways of working.

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management

  • Be a thought leader in the change management space, providing HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and senior leaders with the tools, frameworks, and skills to lead and manage complex organizational change efforts.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with senior leaders, ensuring alignment and buy-in for change initiatives.
  • Provide coaching to leaders and teams engaged in change initiatives, ensuring their efforts are aligned with broader business objectives.
  • Proactively identify and address potential risks and resistance to change through effective communication and stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Lead the facilitation of workshops, training sessions, and coaching engagements to elevate organizational capabilities and ensure alignment with business goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICIATIONS:

  • 8-10 years of experience leading complex change initiatives, with at least 3 years of experience in organizational design, learning and development, or continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate large organizations and build strong internal and external partnerships.
  • Proven track record of integrating technology into learning and change management initiatives, with a deep understanding of modern learning methods.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and project management skills, with experience leading large, complex projects using standard project management methodologies.
  • Expertise in developing and delivering learning across various formats (e.g., in-person, digital, point-of-work, cohort-based).
  • Resilience, adaptability, and the ability to influence without direct authority, especially in ambiguous environments.
  • Strong curiosity and commitment to building relationships and developing talent across all levels of the organization.

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:

  • This is a Minneapolis, MN based role, relocation eligible.
  • International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $106800.00 - $160300.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
