OVERVIEW
The GEMs/China External Supply Chain (ESC) Associate Sourcing Mgr is a newly created role to support the Human Food needs of our GEMs markets in AMEA, while also providing support to China ESC projects.
The ESC Associate Sourcing Manager will be responsible for building and executing ESC strategies in support of the International Human Food needs, specific to GEMs markets in Asia, primarily focusing on suppliers in Taiwan. In addition, this individual will also provide support for ESC China needs, as capacity allows. The responsibilities of the role include delivering manufacturing solutions in support of business priorities, supplier performance management and relationship ownership, stakeholder engagement, Total Value creation, and building ESC network strategies. This individual will work closely with the GEMs SC leadership team, China SC and Business teams, ITQ, Asia Sourcing Team and broad cross functional teams to deliver ESC solutions matched to business needs. They will also be responsible for developing the ESC Network strategy for the key GEMs markets, in support and partnership with GEMs SC LT and direct manager. The role will report into the International ESC leader, and will receive longer term strategic direction and annual priorities from this leader, aligned to International ESC strategic objectives.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead commercial & technical HMM pipeline development and execution -including bid strategies, negotiations, manufacturing improvements, etc.
- Manage & communicate performance metrics at ESC sites
- Responsible for new product capabilities – new ESC site identification/searches for new product launches
- Execute Supplier relationship management plans in partnership with key stakeholders for key suppliers
- Leverage Source to Pay tools and processes across the ESC Category; complying with corporate and regulatory policies and accounting practices
- Gather and understand category market intelligence, benchmarking, and industry best practices
- Ensure supply/services and budget are appropriately managed, the sourcing process is followed, and standards are maintained.
- Support key business financial processes – monthly MMO/PPV reporting, provide international and business updates, region inflation guidance and budgeting
- Identify and lead Improve initiatives at critical sites or charter Improve initiatives that could drive high value for GMI.
- Partner with local Sourcing team to deploy needed capabilities and best practices in ESC
- As needed, engage in support and exploration of surrounding markets for future opportunities for expanded partnerships, other Suppliers and new capabilities that might be available in the region (including China, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, etc)
- Support broader ESC needs in China, including human food initiatives, depending on changing business needs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Engineering
- 5-8 years of Sourcing / Purchasing / Supply Chain/Manufacturing/Engineering experience
- Ability to lead through change
- Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to drive business results
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple ongoing projects in parallel
- Ability to accelerate action, escalate risks, recommend solutions
- Relevant skills and experience in complex contract negotiations, bidding strategies, supplier management, risk management, market analysis, financial analysis, project management
- Interpersonal Effectiveness - ability to collaborate, influence and motivate others. Build and maintain strong relationships. Strong communication skills to adapt to different audiences
- Learning Agility - Learns quickly and can apply skills to new projects or situations. Demonstrates curiosity and passion for learning and continuous improvement

- Fluency in Chinese, Mandarin & English with the ability to work in a multi-lingual environment, spanning different countries and cultures
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous Business facing experience
- An interest to learn more about supply chain
- Experience influencing others in a global, dynamic organization
- Sourcing and Partnership Development experience in the CPG industry
- Previous experience managing Suppliers in China and/or far east Asia region (Taiwan, Thailand, Korea)
