Purpose of the role
The Commercial Execution team is seeking a Business/Technical Analyst to join the team in support of our Salesforce-based retail execution platform. The role will primarily be responsible for managing support tickets with Salesforce, monitoring and maintaining system health, and working with our business partners to enhance and customize Salesforce Consumer Goods Retail Execution mobile platform.
The position will gather priorities and requirements from our business partners, then coordinate with our own developers and centralized developers to execute. The candidate for this role should be able to research capabilities, present options and influence technology decisions based on product and team resource limitations.
The position is expected to lead an agile team as scrum-master, either with sprints or a kanban process. Test those developments, demo to business teams and ensure deployment and hand-off. Additionally, they will have to build out documentation and ensure good testing scripts to ensure enhancements do not disrupt day-to-day operations.
In addition, the role may also support data analysis with our business partners and create new capabilities and reporting from multiple source databases. To achieve this, the analyst will build partnerships and work directly with the business and cross functional partners, including T+S resources, to gather requirements, determine technical deliverable estimates, and problem solve support issues.
The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, a bias towards managing knowledge, experienced in project management including agile software development and running daily standups. They should have solid business acumen and be able to work and make decisions in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Accountable for playing a key role as a Senior Analyst in Commercial Salesforce area. Coordinate with Salesforce COE team to understand and implement salesforce application changes.
- Learning third party applications, internal reporting, system and business process, rules and logic, as well as developing familiarity with system data architecture.
- Work directly with the business to gather detailed business requirements and work with a larger technical team to develop sound technical solutions, test functional specifications, and implement and maintain reporting and functionality.
- Provide timely, personal, and efficient response to user problems and business team inquiries.
- Work within agile product team to develop user stories and manage team stories, as well as any tasks within the analyst's workstream.
- Moderate data analysis as needed for ad hoc investigations as well as testing assumptions in user stories
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or equivalent relevant discipline.
- Experience with SAAS solutions such as Salesforce or similar.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Analyst role.
- Experience gathering and documenting technical business requirements breaking down functional requirements into stories and tasks
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and identify and solve problems
- Background in supporting systems using SQL-like databases such as Oracle or SQL with BigQuery or other cloud databases preferred
- Facility to envision options and negotiate final outcomes when requirements must fit within limitations of technology platform
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic experience with tabular reporting platforms such as Tableau or Salesforce Reporting
- Knowledge of Salesforce Sales Cloud functionality and its limitations.
- Familiarity with scheduling software such as Tidal/Airflow
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, influencing and communication skills (written and oral)
- Demonstrated ability to partner with non-technical business teams along with technical teams to design and implement
- Familiarity with Agile methodology
- Efficient time management skills with the ability to act independently and prioritize across multiple deliverables
- Knowledge of commercial and sales process to deliver business results
- Exposure to GCP-based data lake environment and related tools and technologies
