Function Overview

The Finance organization partners across General Mills to provide financial expertise to guide and govern the company. Purpose of the role

As a Financial Analyst on the External Supply Chain Finance Team, you will have a unique opportunity to enhance your skills in process excellence, situational agility, and strategic partnership. In this position, you will oversee the external supply chain finance functions for designated external manufacturing locations. You will act as the primary liaison for the company, fostering strong relationships with the ESC Finance Team and external manufacturing partners. Additionally, you will provide analytical support to the Minneapolis ESC team and the Mumbai Supply Chain Finance Centre of Excellence.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

70% of Time: Communication: Email, Telephonic, Live Meeting & IM

Communication with External Manufacturers primarily for Inventory, Payables, Materials Usage, Volume analysis, Payment variances, Actual V/s Plan volume analysis, Product Costing variances and ad-hoc queries received from external manufacturers as well as ESC group in Mpls.

10% of Time: Month end activities:

  • Create accrual entries
  • Volume estimates
  • DMS and VMS reporting

20% of Time: Daily Activities:

  • Product Costing Setup (ZMAX)
  • Maintain Product Costing Accuracy
  • Manage Auto Pay Payments & Accuracy
  • Invoice Coding and approval
  • Inventory Stock Adjustment review and approval
  • Usage Analysis (Monthly Annual)
  • Contract Review

Specific Job Experience or Skills Needed

Should be able to manage supply chain functions for designated manufacturing locations. The responsibilities will involve:

· Product Costing Setup

· Maintain Product Costing Accuracy

· Manage Auto Pay Payments & Accuracy

· Invoice Coding and approval

· Stock Adjustment/Usage Review/Approval

· Manage Negative Inventory & Analysis

· Test/Start-Up Budget Review

Monthly Reporting

· Review cost center for accuracy and identify, assist and approve the posting of necessary accruals

· Provide explanations for assigned manufacturing locations for payment variances

· Manage manufacturing volumes for YTD, MTD adjustments

· Manage Payment Variance for assigned manufacturing locations

· Assist in completion of monthly financial deck, as necessary

Manage Budgets (Spring Plan)

· Complete Spring Plan location budgets

· Schedule/lead Contract Manager input meetings

· Complete SAP vs. BPC tie-outs

· Assist in completion of Spring Plan reporting

Other Responsibilities:

· Supporting HMM discovery and ideation

· Support Continuous Improvement – identify process improvements, engage in creating and putting in place improvements (i.e. utilizing YY or Focused Improvement) and communicate to broader ESC group

· Partnership with Supply Chain Center of Excellence and Minneapolis HQ Supply Chain Finance team

· Should be a one point contact to Manufacturing Partners

· Provide inputs for ad-hoc requests and high-level analysis requested by Minneapolis counterparts

· Partner with Supply Chain Ops team and broader Supply Chain team (Contract Manager, Logistics, Sourcing, Engineering, OBM, etc.) on designated projects

· Assist Finance Operations Managers group to adhere to GMI reporting & control policies and procedures

· Engagement with other Mumbai Finance team (CI and other initiatives)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Professional Certification: Bachelors
  • 4+ years of related experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree
  • 4 to 7 years of related experience
  • Major Area of Study: Finance, Analytics, Accountancy, Costing
  • Professional Certifications: CA, MBA, PGDBA, MMS
