Job Description

In This Role YOU Would:

Have Proficiency and knowledge of vehicle/propulsion, manufacturing and the elements of the GM Quality System / GMS BIQ. Proficiency and knowledge of the Quality Launch Plan and the requirements in the Global Quality Manual. Ability to coach, teach and audit elements of GM Quality Manual and GMS BIQ Principle and Elements. Managerial Courage to provide direct, honest, constructive feedback to Plant Staffs / Executive Leadership in a considerate and professional manner. Present the Assembly Plant and Engineering Staff with clear problem definition, technical mentorship on complex problems, and regular updates on progress. Support Launch of new products in the plant when applicable.

The Quality Operations Shift Leader has responsibility for a medium size group of employees, both Salary and Hourly, tasked at executing the Global Quality System within the plant. Within the department they are working to coach and teach the Quality Operations team on how to function within a BIQ IV environment, while also ensuring the integrity of the Quality System being exercised within the Production Departments. Work involves a considerable amount of initiative in decision making and is accompanied by a high level of independent judgment as well as the ability to develop strong relationships across the functional areas.

Day to Day Activities:

  • Perform start of shift procedures; including cross shift communication

  • Manpower coordination across shift

  • Attend production ops meetings

  • Conduct huddles with GLs

  • Initiate and provide support for containments

  • Review salary vacation/rotation schedule

  • Monitor SIRs

  • Perform Layered Audits

  • Participate in staff Layered Audits

  • Conduct BPD reviews with GLs

  • Review QCOS books

  • Flex check and implementation review

  • Perform end of shift processes

  • People leader experience

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree

  • Quality experience

  • Experience with GM systems

  • Experience working with Kronos
