Job Description

This role is categorized as HYBRID. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM - Cadillac Tower three times per week, at minimum.

As a member of GMNA Order Fulfillment Team, this position plays a vital role in providing outstanding customer experience to wholesale and retail employees by using investigative and negotiation skills to resolve transportation damage situations in a fast paced, detailed-oriented, team environment. The Major Damage Liaison, New Vehicle Damage team member will coordinate activities related to GM dealer Business Center (DBC) escalations of major transportation damages cases as reported by GM Dealerships. The Major Damage Liaison, New Vehicle Damage employee gather claim support, will assist dealerships with claim submission, claim reject resolution, and vehicle disposals.

Responsibilities:

  • Review in-transit major damage reports (Hotlines) received in advance of vehicle delivery. Evaluate the damage severity and execute a decision to ship as is or divert for in- transit repair estimating.
  • Interface with GM Logistics, GM contacted carriers, GM Wholesale, and GM dealership employees concerning the disposition of vehicles damaged in-transit prior to delivery to final destination.
  • Interface with GM Logistics Claims staff to resolve transportation claim disputes.
  • Perform functions and activities necessary to process both scrap & repairable vehicles.
  • Understand GM collision repair procedures.
  • Understand and use GM flat rate labor time guide.
  • Create and maintain relationships with internal & external stake holders.
  • Maintain electronic records of all activities and decisions made with respect to individual vehicle repair decisions.
  • Stay current on company-wide and industry standard methodologies/trends relating to collision and estimating practices.

Additional Job Description

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or a Minimum of 2+ years equivalent experience required.
  • 2+ years of GM field Service or Retail dealership repair service experience required.
  • 2+ years of automotive product knowledge and experience required.
  • Experience with collision estimating preferred.
  • Knowledge of GM Flat Rate Labor Guide preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry repair estimating labor guides preferred (ex: Pathways CCC, Mitchell Estimating).
  • Proven track record with respect to operational agility, adaptability, and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to persist in the face of setbacks.
  • Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service.
