This role is based remotely, but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, Warren, Pontiac, or Milford, you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum.

The Role:
The Senior Capture & Proposal Manager is a member of the Global Business Development Operations team, subject matter expert in capture and proposal development, and a cross functional leader for specific capture campaigns, proposal effort, and other strategic initiatives."
The Senior Capture & Proposal Manager is responsible for leading and applying subject matter expertise to support all aspects of domestic and international capture campaigns with a particular focus on leading production of high-quality, winning proposals. You would also be responsible for working closely with other Capture Managers, Business Development Leads and cross functional proposal teams to develop capture plans, technical solutions for proposals, whitepapers, oral presentations, and other business materials.
As a Senior Capture Capture and Proposal Manager, you will lead/mentor less experienced staff and proposal coordinators and contribute to proposal development writing efforts, when required. You will interface with a range of matrixed resources from across GM Defense functions and GM organizations (as required) , as well as support other business development activities as required.
A fully qualified senior contributor will have an excellent business acumen, be highly organized, and be excessively customer focused. This individual will also have excellent communication skills and be willing and able to commit time and effort to a dynamic, fast paced, and demanding business environment. This individual will perform a variety of tasks, with a self-starter attitude, willing to “roll up the sleeves” with an “it’s on me” mentality to meet deadlines. What You'll Do:
In coordination with BD Operations team and other capture managers, effectively design, develop, and lead execution of cross functional teams to execute capture campaigns, proposal development, and other strategic initiatives
Lead the design and execution of capture campaigns to move DoD and International business opportunities from Business Development pursuits to winning proposal submissions and contract wins.
Lead cross-functional teams, meetings and workshops to execute long-term campaigns and provide continuous updates through action item completion.
Design, develop and lead Gate Reviews, Black Hat Reviews, and Price to Win development workshops and activities.
Develop and continuously update each specific program Capture Plan and Win Strategies, including tracking all Capture Team action items.
Develop and continuously update Customer Engagement plans for capture campaigns, as well as scheduling and tracking customer contacts for key internal personnel.
Lead and manage all aspects of proposal development (proposal writing, editing, illustration, production efforts, etc.) from assignment and receipt of RFP, through delivery to the customer.
Analyze government and commercial solicitations (RFP, RFQ, RFI, etc.) in conjunction with other customer information to design compelling response materials.
Conduct general editing of written proposal inputs, writing new material or working with reuse material, proofreading and performing quality check of proposals under tight deadline constraints.
Develop and manage proposal development schedules.
Provide detailed guidance to proposal writers/contributors and contracted support teams.
Manage writing assignments and receipt of all proposal materials with authors and teaming partners in accordance with project timelines.
Manage the collection and editing of proposal materials to ensure compliance with proposal requirements.
Lead Proposal Teams in the development of a winning proposal to achieve full RFP compliance and achievement of outstanding ratings in all source selection factors.

Additional Job Description
Your Skills & Abilities:
Bachelor’s Degree
5+ years of capture experience including a track record of winning proposal efforts valued at $250M or more in the DoD and International markets.
8+ years of experience leading cross functional teams, as well as collaborating well with others that are not direct reports in a team environment
Experience interfacing directly with Government customers and executive leaders
Experience developing program, system and sustainment requirements with DoD and international customers
Familiar with the requirement development, allocation and management of New Business Initiative and Bid & Proposal funds
Proficient in using MS Office suite of tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, SharePoint) to produce professional written communication, such as reports, presentations, and correspondence
Proven proposal leadership skills, with the ability to build a strong team, effectively resolve conflict, and vector appropriate resources to maximize proposal development.
Experience in keeping a team focused and moving toward developing a compliant, compelling, competitive - winning document.
Extensive experience in mentoring and coaching less experienced staff and (proposal inexperienced) senior operations staff who are writing proposals for the first time.
Ability to work with little direction and handle multiple tasks.
Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends when required.
Comfortable operating in a fast paced, high energy workplace.
Ability to work professionally on a team with internal and external collaborators.
Works well under pressure to complete multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines with a passion to succeed.
Ability to travel up to 20% (US and international).

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge:
Master’s degree in Business, Communications or Engineering Disciplines
Capture and Proposal management training (Shipley or other)
Experience with Domestic and International Joint Ventures and teaming agreements
Knowledge of various contracting vehicles including Firm Fixed Price or Cost Plus
10+ years of experience in Government Business Development, Capture, Program Management or Contract Management
10+ years of experience leading cross functional teams and collaborating with non-direct reports
5+ years of experience in direct management of government proposal development
5+ years of experience leading international business development and capture
Experience leading Business Development campaigns and developing capture plans and proposal development efforts
Compensation:
The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.
The salary range for this role is $108,400 - $169,600. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual
performance.
