This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Milford three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business].
The Role:
The ADAS DRIVE Organization is responsible for the Design, Requirements, Integration, Validation and Execution of ADAS Products. As a performance calibration engineer in the ADAS DRIVE Front Impact Mitigation team you will be responsible for planning and executing testing required to develop, calibrate, and validate Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) solutions. This engineer will be working on production level calibrations and doing hands-on work in vehicles, benches and in simulation environments with the goal of providing a flawless customer experience that saves lives.
What You'll Do (responsibilities):
- Understand algorithms in your area of responsibility and participate in developing and improving software, calibration quality, and efficiency.
- Integrate new Front Impact Mitigation software into vehicles, benches, or simulation as required.
- Plan testing and follow calibration guides to develop program specific calibrations that pass internal, regulatory, and NCAP requirements.
- Efficiently collect and analyze test data.
- Work cross functionally to triage issues and communicate impacts with the appropriate teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve calibration / validation process and reduce rework.
- Conduct calibration and performance reviews for your programs.
- Execute validation process/CGs and write validation test reports.
- Continuously look for feature enhancements or design improvements.
- Make recommendations based on work completed, share lessons learned with the team members, and keep managers as well as leads informed of assignment status, timing, and technical issues.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, Computer Science, or related technical degree.
- 2+ years of overall engineering experience.
- Understanding of active safety systems, vehicle performance, and automated driving technology
- Strong ability to work with computer-based tools to collect and analyze data.
- High level of oral and written communication skills.
- Effectively handle multiple priorities while maintaining a dedication to the tasks at hand.
- The ability to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis.
- Ability to travel as needed to support product development and testing.
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master’s degree in Engineering
- 2+ years of automotive experience in testing, development, calibration, and validation (preferably with ETAS/INCA and NeoVi / Vehicle Spy tools).
- Experience with vehicle diagnostics, CAN, and Ethernet.
- Experience with radars, lidars, camera or similar sensor systems.
- Experience with simulation, HiL, and/or mathematical modeling.
- MATLAB/Simulink & Python tool/script development proficiency.
