Job Description

Role:


The Infrastructure and Facilities Engineer will be responsible for leading project planning, budgeting and scheduling to ensure successful completion of projects in compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, standards, specifications and governmental regulations. The incumbent will have responsibility over multiple construction projects and report directly to Engineering Supervisor at GM SA Facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead new construction or renovation projects, including preparation of design packages (SOR), review proposals, manage design services contracts, track progress, identify cost savings opportunities and resolve technical issues during construction;

  • Manage the selection process for general contractors and subcontractors. Coordinate work between contractors and other facilities staff members. Work with outside consultants as needed. Review plans and specifications and coordinate site inspections with local authorities;

  • Schedule and conduct regular meetings with the contractor and subcontractor teams. Participate in these meetings as required;

  • Manage project budgets and timelines;

  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders;

  • Assist the Engineering team by providing advice on interior designs and equipment selections;

  • Develop project budgets, monitor spending, and implement cost-saving measures;

  • Identify potential safety hazards and take appropriate action;

  • Follow through on the implementation of projects, ensuring adherence to quality assurance standards and timely completion within established deadlines;

  • Provide support for all other facility activities such as, but not limited to, managing vendors and control and installations services;

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations;

  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Mec, Elect. Preferred Civil;

  • Intermediate in English language;

  • Spanish will be a differential;

  • Solid experience in the role;

  • Experience in working in automotive industry is preferred;

  • Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools ( REVIT );

  • Power-BI Knowledge is preferred;

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;

  • Working knowledge of LEED principles is desirable;

  • Knowledgeable of applicable building codes and laws (NR's);

  • Strong knowledge of construction materials and methods;

  • Travel nationally and internationally (South America) as required for project needs.
