The Product Marketing team for OnStar Digital Services seeks to leverage vehicle connectivity and telematics experience with new services and software-defined vehicle capabilities. Protect Services: OnStar has been an industry leader in automatic crash response, emergency services, and stolen vehicle assistance for decades. Customers trust our service to help them in their critical times of need.
Connect Services: Provide ultimate convenience by helping our customer stay connected to their vehicles and their digital lifestyle with products like remote vehicle controls, navigation, streaming audio and video, gaming, and in-vehicle WiFi.
Advanced Driving Assistance Services: Innovations like hands-free driving with Super Cruise and intelligent assistance.
The Product Marketing team for OnStar Digital Services team is an integrated part of the broader VSSM Product Marketing organization partnering with our vehicle brand teams (Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC), Vehicle Program teams, Software & Services Teams. It’s an integrated pillar of the OnStar Digital Services business alongside OnStar Sales, Marketing, and Communications teams to bring products and services to market.
Description of Role:
This role will be responsible for driving new value and growth opportunities from OnStar Protect Services. A successful product marketing manager in this role will partner with many cross-functional teams such as Software & Services Product Management, Product Marketing, Vehicle Programs, Brands, and CX teams. This role will also continuously assess execution commitments against business plan targets for OnStar Protect services to ensure alignment, appropriate go-to-market requirements, product valuations and preparedness toward business plan sufficiency (short and long-term). The role will focus on the suite of services that focus on the Protect value proposition. The suite of services with Protect include automatic crash response, stolen vehicle assistance, emergency services, OnStar Guardian, vehicle health services, and more. It is an exciting space that that delivers high impact, satisfaction and engagement to the GM enterprise ecosystem.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Consistent demonstration and modeling of GM’s winning behaviors
- 5+ years of product marketing or product management experience.
- Experience with subscription business management
- Experience building, analyzing, and communicating business cases in partnership cross functionally to all levels of leadership.
- Experience working with market research and analytics to curate customer insights and market trends.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to effectively communicate and present to all levels of the company
- Ability to organize and plan effectively, in ambiguous and continually changing environment
- Highly developed oral and written communications skills, with focus on succinct, simple messaging
- High level of interpersonal skills to build strong relationships and work effectively with, motivate and elicit work from others

Key Job Responsibilities:
- Define target customer, market positioning, and key areas of differentiation for products and features within domain.
- Develop and support comprehensive business cases in partnership with Product Management and Finance.
- Gather and analyze relevant data to Identify and articulate specific Protect value propositions and market size.
- Build and estimate business models and potential financial and operational impact of proposed initiatives.
- Present findings and recommendations in a clear and compelling manner.
- Drive analytics and voice of customer understanding to drive discoverability, awareness, and engagement.
- Continuously assess product-market fit of existing portfolio, trends, and competitive threats.
- Collaborate on research activities to gauge desirability and insights (customer and market).
- Lead business support for S&S Product Management and Strategic Tech Partnerships on commercial models with partners.
- Integrate Protect value proposition with the OnStar acquisition and customer success sales and marketing teams.
- Champion GTM requirements that affect product experience into product roadmaps.
- Apply data and analytics methodologies to set direction and prove/disprove hypotheses in our strategies.
- Assess business plans, roadmaps, competitive landscape and provide recommendations for improvements and adjustments.
- Integrate with Global Regions on unique local needs and assist in prioritization for resource allocation.
