Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Orion, MI on a full-time basis.

The Role:
As a 3P&VAA Manager, you'll be responsible as the single point contact/liaison to coordinate all activities between the ASSY plant and VAA. Key Deliverables will be to represent the ASSY plant on new contract negotiations or modifications with development and execution of all phases of a Lean Material System to create the most efficient, leanest designs. This position is responsible for executing deliverables in support of the supply chain's organization's business objectives.

What You'll do:

Program & Deliverable Timing

  • Manages the creation and completion of the VAA Master-dot
  • Communicates or organizes the communication of VAA status to plant staff and Global VAA team
  • Works with Material Launch Manager to help coordinate and validate the material plan for VAA
  • Manages the completion of the RV (Readiness Verification) checklist
  • Coordinates quality planning and plant quality interface
  • Holds VAA accountable for reaching agreed upon targets

Process Validation

  • Ensures that the VAA validation plan supports the acceleration schedules and comprehends the plant build restrictions
  • Coordinates MVB builds with Plant Emphasizing Safety, Quality and Thru-Put
  • Provides support for VAA construction of layout tooling plans
  • Supports Matching activities

Education and Training

  • Works with VAA to develop a training plan that supports flawless execution
  • Implements and shares lessons learned from previous program executions
  • Ensures VAA is actively participating in Process Verification Builds
  • Responsible to collaborate with VAA for completion of Slow Build and System Validation Build activities

Administration

  • Provides leadership to VAA execution team
  • Coordinates VAA to General Motors Deliverables
  • Establishes VAA participation with Pre- Production




Additional Job Description

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Warehousing, Lean Manufacturing and / or Supply Chain operation
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Analytical ability where problems are somewhat complex
  • Knowledge of material department operation, manufacturing processes, and departmental relationships
  • Planning and organizational abilities
  • Ability to understand and assess complex supply chain issues and lead teams in a cross functional environment to successfully resolve issues minimizing impacts to vehicle production.
  • Ability to be flexible and at times work extended and non-core hours to ensure issues are worked to resolution.
  • Ability to problem tackle complete issues and implement new and innovative strategies.
  • Deep understanding of Supply Chain functions

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Bachelors Degree (Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering)
  • Knowledge of EPS/PPS (pull systems)
  • Knowledge of MGO-A, VM2000/VBIMS (ERP systems inventory management)
  • Experience working in Value Added Assembly processes
  • Experience working in an automotive/manufacturing environment servicing an OEM.
