Job Description

GM Audit Services plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and efficiency of our operations. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager to lead our Professional Practices Group. The Manager of the Professional Practices Group will be a proven people leader responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of audit methodologies, quality assurance, and training programs. Additionally, this role includes managing the function's budget, procurement, executive communications, global risk assessment, and supporting the VP of Internal Audit and Strategic Risk Management in connecting strategies across the organization. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership, operational excellence, and the ability to foster positive relationships and team cohesion. They will also embody the principles of strategic thinking, including anticipating challenges, interpreting complex data, making decisive decisions, aligning stakeholders, and continuously learning and adapting.

What You’ll Do -
• Lead and manage the Professional Practices Group within GM Audit Services.
• Develop and maintain audit methodologies, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the quality assurance and improvement program.
• Design and deliver training programs for the internal audit staff.
• Collaborate with leadership team to align audit practices with organizational goals.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices.
• Manage the function's budget and forecasting process.
• Oversee procurement activities.
• Handle executive communications, including ownership of Board Level reporting and materials.
• Facilitate the global risk assessment process.
• Manage leadership meetings, including preparation of materials and facilitation.
• Organize and manage all-people meetings, including preparation of materials.





Additional Job Description

This role is based remotely, but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, Warren, Pontiac, Milford or Mountain View, you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) –
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in internal audit.
• Proven track record of effectively managing teams and their development; 4-6 years in management roles.
• Proven track record of demonstrating strategic leadership and operational excellence.
• Strong knowledge of internal audit standards and practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to think strategically and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in audit software and tools.
• Displays diplomacy, humility, and collaboration.
• Focuses on people, relationships, and consensus.
• Exhibits positivity and encouragement.
• Facilitates group cohesion, synthesizes ideas and facts creatively, and understands the broader context and implications.
• Experience in leading change initiatives and improving audit processes.
• Ability to foster a positive and inclusive team culture.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications) -
• Advanced degrees: Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., CIA, CPA, CISA).
• Advanced knowledge of audit software and tools, data analytics, and risk management systems.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and initiatives.

Compensation:

The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws.

The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position, as well as geography of the selected candidate.

  • The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $172,000. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
