Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Engineer or Scientist for our Remediation Practice in one of our Ann Arbor, Detroit, or Grand Rapids, MI office. The position will dig into the details of environmental due diligence and environmental regulatory compliance, working closely with attorneys, while further developing the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties;
- Conduct fieldwork including multi-media environmental sampling, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction;
- Lead complex field events and communicate sensitive information to multiple stakeholders and multi-disciplinary project teams;
- Task and project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
- Management and mentoring of junior staff;
- Work plan development, data evaluation, and report writing;
- Data analysis, including preparing maps and figures using GIS/Environmental Visualization Software (EVS) applications, and database management;
- Prepare technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
- Review and manage written document production;
- Task and project-level responsibility for scoping, performing, managing and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments;
- Consistent with our sell-manage-do business model, play a role supporting lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring; and
- Help broaden our reputation via publishing and visibility at prominent industry conferences.
- Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.
Education and Licensure
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, or related field. (required)
- Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
- Professional registration, or ability to obtain when eligible. (i.e., P.G. or P.E.)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- At least 5 years of direct environmental consulting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
- Regional visibility through involvement in professional associations or trade organizations. (preferred)
- Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
- Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
