REE has an exciting opportunity for a Water Resources Engineer to join our Mine Water Team. We seek motivated professionals to support our strong and growing project pipeline.

- Dam breach and failure consequence assessments
- Mine site infrastructure design
- Drainage design and surface water management plans
- Climate change assessments
- Closure studies and design
- Sitewide flood studies
- Water balance studies
- Hydraulic infrastructure design
- Tailings management studies
- Environmental impact studies
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This role will give you the opportunity to:
- Undertake hydraulic, hydrology and water balance modelling with guidance from senior and principal engineers
- Work closely with Engineers-of-Record (EoR) on long-term operational projects
- Support the development of Consequence Category assessments, including dam break modelling
- Assist in a range of surface water management studies and investigations from concept through to detailed design
- Liaise with other internal disciplines and sub-consultants. This includes international branches of Geosyntec
- Work with the CAD team to develop project documentation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients
- Technical report writing and proposal preparation
- Participate in National and International Conferences
Education and Licensure
- Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, or a related field of study. (required)
- Eligible for membership with Engineers Australia, with the ability to obtain RPEQ/NER once adequately qualified. (required)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Approx. 4 to 8 years of consulting experience operating within the water resources sector (required)
- Experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling (e.g. TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, RORB, WBNM, Flow-2D) (required)
- Competent in the use of GIS package/s (required)
- Working knowledge of ARR guidelines (required)
- Highly experienced in technical report writing (required)
- Experienced in proposal writing and project management (required)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (required)
Highly regarded skills & experience:
- Additional hydrologic and hydraulic modelling packages
- Familiarity with dam safety guidelines including ANCOLD, GISTM, CDA and DES
- Water balance studies (GoldSim)
- Dam break and consequence assessment studies
- Dam storage allowance, and spillway design
- Stormwater management plans and/or erosion and sediment control
- Civil or tailings engineering
- Experience in the following software: GoldSim, 12d, AutoCAD, Civil3D, Muk3D
