Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Early-Career Water Resources Engineer or Scientist in one of our Tampa, FL; Boca Raton, FL; Clearwater, FL; Orlando, FL; or Jacksonville, FL offices. The position will have the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world situations while solving our clients’ water resources challenges and to develop experience related to hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling, geospatial data analysis, and reporting, while also learning the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling;
- Watershed and stormwater management design and analysis;
- Water quality assessments;
- Drainage design and permitting;
- Floodplain mapping and flood protection designs;
- Data management, analysis, and visualization;
- Reviewing state and federal regulations & permits pertaining to surface water;
- Fieldwork such as site visits/field operations oversight, stormwater infrastructure inventories and surface water sampling;
- Water resources sustainability and resiliency planning; and
- Preparation of technical reports, calculations, drawings, tables, figures, specifications, and proposals.
Education and Licensure
- Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, water resources, or biosystems engineering, environmental science or similar. (required)
- Advanced degree in water resources engineering. (preferred)
- Certification as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT). (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- 0 to 2 years of professional experience. (preferred)
- Prior research or professional experience with surface water/H&H modeling. (preferred)
- Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
- Strong written and oral communication skills. (required)
- Experience with modeling software such as ICPR, SWMM, or HEC-RAS. (preferred)
- Experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS. (preferred)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
