Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Senior EHS Consultant to join our Canadian operations in Guelph, Cambridge or Waterloo, Ontario. This position will help us grow our practice and manage client development for environmental, health, and safety (EHS) and due diligence projects. You must have an entrepreneurial attitude, and enthusiasm for supporting business development and technical efforts to expand Geosyntec’s market share. This position supports the creation and implementation of new strategies by providing strategic solutions to our clients’ most complex problems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as an Environmental Management and Due Diligence practice leader focused on business development of EHS services, with an emphasis on H&S, staff mentorship and growth, and expansion of practice services internally to existing Geosyntec client teams, and externally for newly identified clients.
  • Perform EHS compliance and management system audits at a wide variety of industrial and commercial facilities across Canada and the United States.
  • Lead and support complex, multi-site due diligence projects across Canada and the US including contamination, compliance, health and safety and sustainability components
  • Review and interpretation of pending and new regulations and developing strategies for clients externally and mentoring and supporting internal Geosyntec team development.
  • Reviewing and preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, and proposals.
  • Providing clients with project management, technical advice and training related to environmental compliance, sustainability, and EHS management systems.
  • Support in Geosyntec marketing efforts and client business development.
  • Fieldwork: Up to 30%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 30%
  • Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree chemical, environmental, civil engineering, or a related field of study (required)
  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) chemical or environmental engineering. (preferred)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of experience working in a consulting, manufacturing or industrial environment, with in-depth knowledge of EHS management, principles, methodologies, and regulatory requirements, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Experience managing the overall delivery of projects including, project planning and controls, financial management, change management, risk management, and contract/subcontract management. (required)
  • Experience in auditing and development and implementation of comprehensive EHS management programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. (preferred)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products. (required)
  • Ability to make presentations at industrial conferences and at client meetings. (required)
  • Field work and overnight travel may be required.
  • Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

Below is the range that we in good faith believe is the potential compensation for this role at the time of this posting and is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec’s total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $130,000 / Maximum Salary: $160,000
