Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Environmental due diligence (including performance of Phase I ESAs under the applicable ASTM standards and limited environmental compliance reviews) and ESG due diligence;
  • Technical research, review, and management of documents and data from publicly-available and private sources to support consulting and litigation support projects;
  • Fieldwork such as soil, soil vapor, and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, construction quality assurance and oversight, and remediation system Operations & Management (O&M);
  • Data compilation, review, and analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures;
  • Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals; and
  • Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology. (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, if applicable. (preferred)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of related experience, including supporting environmental due diligence and related consulting projects, observation of drilling and well installation, soil sampling, soil vapor, groundwater sampling, and other field techniques, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Knowledge of federal and state-specific regulatory drivers related to environmental assessment and remediation. (required)
  • Prior experience in environmental consulting. (valuable)
  • Experience in environmental site assessment, environmental permitting/compliance, geology, geotechnical, or related disciplines. (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and related software; AutoCAD and/or GIS (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of AI tools to support consulting assignments. (valuable)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec’s total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $70,595/year / Maximum Salary: $106,945 /year (Washington, D.C)
