Overview

Gilbane is seeking a Sustainability Specialist to manage sustainability scorecards (CDP, EcoVadis, GRESB), tracks and manages Scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon emissions, ensures compliance with regulations, and collaborates with stakeholders to advance sustainability initiatives. This position will initially serve to support LEED creditation project on a significant healthcare project.

Responsibilities
- Organizes, collects, analyzes, and reports sustainability data
- Maintains and updates sustainability scorecards (CDP, EcoVadis, GRESB)
- Tracks and reports sustainability trends and metrics
- Ensures compliance with local, national, and international sustainability regulations
- Stays updated on changes in sustainability regulations and standards
- Assists with SPTi plan and target development
- Monitors and tracks utility usage across the portfolio
- Reports progress against SBTi targets and suggests improvements
- Identifies opportunities for energy and resource efficiency improvements
- Acts as a liaison with ESG Software providers and Gilbane Technology Group
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to support sustainability initiatives
- Develops and maintains a knowledge management system for sustainability data and best practices to support updated business development information and case studies
- Provides training and support to team members on sustainability data and scorecards
- Oversees the expansion of the HIVE Teams repository of sustainability information
- Prepares for and participates in audits
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Business, Accounting, or related field
- 3-5 years experience in sustainability, innovation, environmental management, or related field, preferably within the construction industry
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Detail-oriented and accurate
- Ability to identify and mitigate risks
- Ability to seek efficiencies and automation on a continuous improvement basis
- Ability to manage multiple projects accurately and consistently
- Commitment to sustainability and the environment
- Strong knowledge of EcoVadis, SBTi, GRESB, and the Carbon Disclosure Project
- Knowledge of measuring and tracking enterprise data with high accuracy
Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.
For Minnesota, this ranges from $76,500 to $105,000 plus benefits and retirement program.
