Chief Operating Officer team
Based in Tokyo, this individual will be a key driver of execution and alignment across the Asia Pacific COO team, shaping and advancing the business agenda for Asset Management. The COO team leads business strategy, operational discipline, financial performance management, regulatory readiness, risk oversight, and firmwide governance.
This role works across multiple teams and regions, partnering directly with leadership teams as well as sales, product, finance, operations, engineering, legal, compliance, and risk accelerating commercial growth, strengthening operating platform, enhance client experience, and enforce governance standards across APAC.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The individual will play a key role within the Asia Pacific COO team, driving execution across multiple teams and regions to advance strategic priorities and scale our asset management business. Key responsibilities include:
- Own and drive planning, forecasting, and performance tracking across the sales teams. Lead coordination with regional partners to enforce financial discipline, optimize resource allocation, and enhance transparency in business reporting
- Lead and coordinate regional and global initiatives that accelerate growth. Drive cross‑functional execution to elevate client experience, strengthen the operating model, and advance strategic priorities across business channels
- Ensure strong governance across Asia Pacific by overseeing adherence to regulatory requirements and partnering with Legal, Compliance, and Risk to proactively identify and mitigate business risks. Support representation in regional/global governance forums
- Drive APAC hiring, onboarding, development, and culture initiatives in partnership with HCM and leadership teams. Champion efforts to uplift talent capabilities, enhance engagement, and strengthen organizational health
- Shape and scale the regional operating platform by driving process redesign, technology adoption, and operational efficiency. Partner across offices to improve governance, streamline execution, and ensure effective resource deployment
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 4-7 years of experience in Asset Management or broader Financial Services; with exposure to strategic, COO, project, or business management roles
- Strong understanding of asset management business models, financials, and reportings
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work effectively in a global environment
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, execution‑driven environment
- Self-starter with strong judgement, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach
- Fluency in both Japanese and English (spoken and written)
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced credentials (i.e. CFA) a plus
