Our team is at the forefront of driving data-driven decision-making across the organization. We are responsible for building, maintaining and scaling mission-critical data applications and flows that facilitate real-time data processing, ingestion and distribution to multiple client teams. We are currently embarking on a multi-year program on engineering a low-latency, high-performance, resilient and cloud-native platform to enable high-velocity, high-volume data-streams. Team members will have the opportunity to work at the forefront of technological innovation and make significant end-to-end contributions.
Primary Responsibilities
As a backend developer, you will
- Drive the design of critical components in the technology stack as well as oversee and implement new features, focusing on code quality, automation and testability.
- Collaborate with a global cross functional team in building customer-centric products
- Contribute to the vision, understand our product roadmap and contribute to building an engineering culture within our global team.
- Design flows and systems using cloud and on-prem technologies to ensure performance, longevity, and scalability of infrastructure.
- Contribute to SDLC documentation and guidance including templates, patterns, and controls.
- Perform code reviews and system design reviews and establish code quality standards and software best practices for a distributed systems architecture.
- Mentor and help develop more junior technical talents.
- Communicate with leadership, engineers, and business teams.
We are looking for someone with lots of energy that enjoys engineering challenges and has a passion to deliver high quality technology solutions and can operate in a highly fluid, rapidly changing environment.
Basic Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Python and/or Java
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with design and implementation of low latency, high throughput, and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
- Experience in working with databases – NoSQL and/or Relational
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills, with attention to details.
- Comfort with Agile operating models
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Energetic, self-directed, and self-motivated
- Strong work ethic, a sense of ownership and urgency
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or AWS CDK
- Hands-on experience with AWS services
- Experience working with event-driven architecture and messaging technologies
- Experience working with clients / users a plus
