OUR IMPACT

Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management (PWM) specializes in creating comprehensive wealth management plans for high-net-worth individuals and families, as well as select institutions, including foundations and endowments. PWM Teams work one-on-one with clients to advise and deliver customized strategies drawn from our deep investment experience, diverse wealth management capabilities and global reach. Our Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) deliver an unparalleled investment platform inclusive of the full product and service offerings of Goldman Sachs and beyond, which may include tax and estate planning, philanthropic planning and private banking and lending services. As client needs evolve, this close relationship allows the team to offer complementary services and new opportunities by leveraging the resources of Goldman Sachs and beyond.

YOUR IMPACT

We are looking for a Vice President to join the Cross Markets Team (“CMT”) in Zurich, part of PWM Capital Markets within Private Wealth Management. CMT delivers cross-asset investment ideas and trade execution across equities, fixed income, FX, and commodities for Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) and their clients.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join a fast-growing business in a senior capacity, acting as a bridge between PWAs, the broader investment platform, and clients. As a Vice President within CMT, your role will primarily revolve around delivering tailored investment advice, pricing, and trading across all asset classes. Your primary stakeholders will be PWAs, product teams in London, and UHNW clients. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, strong communication skills, and client service are essential to maintaining and enhancing our business.

  • Provide tailored investment advice aligned with client objectives, risk appetite, constraints, and market conditions.
  • Communicate strategies clearly and transparently, including scenario outcomes, key risks, product features, and all associated costs.
  • Analyze client portfolios and market trends to identify risks and opportunities, and deliver actionable tactical recommendations (e.g., hedges, yield enhancement, tactical allocation ideas).
  • Partner closely with PWAs to deepen client relationships through proactive market insights and tactical trade ideas; act as a trusted cross-asset subject matter expert.
  • Support client engagements by contributing to high-quality proposals, responses, and investment materials, and by participating in selected client meetings.
  • Price and execute vanilla and multi-factor OTC options, structured notes, and cash transactions across asset classes, in coordination with internal trading, risk, and control functions.
  • Ensure disciplined adherence to internal policies and applicable advisory governance expectations (e.g., suitability/appropriateness concepts) consistent with the regulatory environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement by helping develop and implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency and client service quality.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory developments, and the competitive landscape to ensure CMT remains at the forefront of cross-asset solutions.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-10 years of experience in capital markets, with demonstrated cross-asset advisory and/or structuring/trading exposure in a client-facing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of equities and FICC markets, derivatives, risk management principles and ability to execute trades across asset classes.
  • Candidates should be professionally fluent in German language for this role.
  • Proven ability to explain complex products transparently to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, sound judgment under time pressure, and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Working knowledge of relevant securities laws/regulations and advisory governance (e.g., suitability/appropriateness concepts).
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
