We make markets in and clear client transactions on major stock, options and futures exchanges worldwide. Through our global sales force, we maintain relationships with our clients, receiving orders and distributing investment research, trading ideas, market information and analysis.

OPERATIONS

Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted function that works with all areas of the firm to deliver banking, sales and trading and asset management capabilities to clients globally while ensuring that the firm’s and clients’ assets are protected. Operations partners with other divisions in developing the firm’s processes and controls and specifying system requirements to ensure process and control accuracy, timeliness and integrity.

OUR IMPACT

Equities Execution Services (EES) is part of Global Banking & Markets Operations and is responsible for post trade risk management for cash equity trades executed by Institutional Clients (pension funds, blue chips etc.) and providing best-in-class client service. EES partner with and support the Firm’s high and low touch cash equity Businesses and their associated execution desks which include Goldman Sachs Electronic Trading (GSET), Pan European Shares (PES) and Program Trading. In addition, EES are responsible for risk managing all cash equity executions stemming from the IBD deal flow which includes new issues and accelerated book offerings. There is a close working relationship between EES and IBD Operations.

Bengaluru EES Trade Management is responsible for the real-time risk management and processing of cash equity trades post execution. Risk is primarily managed through the allocations and confirmation process together with pre-matching. The Team pro-actively manage and mitigate risk stemming from sensitive and emerging markets such as buy-in and fail penalties as well as corporate action events. The Team has a high level of Client and Business interaction and has formed an active partnership with relationship managers to improve the client experience and help grow client relationships. In addition, EES actively partners with our settlement teams to assist with equity inventory management.

The successful candidate will be expected to act as a change agent, by improving processes and procedures and contributing meaningfully to the overall strategy of the organization

JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES

The position available is with the Equities Execution Services Operations team. Key stakeholders and interactions will be with Clients, GS Trading and Sales Desks, Engineering and Operations Teams, Credit, Legal, Compliance and external counterparties.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders – Clients, Business, Engineering, Operations and Credit. Actively engage, partner and drive changes, provide excellent service and support.
    Monitoring and ensuring the delivery of the highest standard of client service
  • Monitoring Key Risk Indicators and ensuring they are at or below agreed levels
  • Proactively managing operational risk inherent in business.
  • Ensuring all operational risk/issues are identified and mitigated appropriately and proactively.
  • Ensuring adequate operational controls to manage non-generic business.
  • Completing and overseeing daily checklist ensuring all controls, procedures and processes relating to the assigned functions are followed
  • To act as a change agent solving problems at root cause whilst also taking / making opportunities to automate flows
  • Consistently striving to identify opportunities to reduce risk, manual processing, improving client experience and being commercially effective
  • Demonstrate effective client service by dealing with client queries with utmost sensitivity & urgency · Effective escalation on critical & high value breaks to senior management
  • Provide technical expertise related to the implementation of new processes, global consistency, risk management, efficiency, and technology convergence initiatives among other projects
  • Completing and overseeing daily checklist ensuring all controls, procedures and processes relating to the assigned functions are followed · Acting as a change agent solving problems at root cause whilst also taking / making opportunities to automate flows

SKILL / EXPERIENCE

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual who is looking to operate in a dynamic working environment where communication and teamwork skills are essential.
  • Exceptional client service and relationship building are required to interact with our clients and the team
  • The candidate should have a control focus and be achievement orientated to produce results to ensure that all risk is mitigated.
  • Strong organisational skills required:
  • Deadlines within this role are very strict with “zero tolerance”
  • Prompt escalation and clear communication is paramount
  • Be flexible, work on projects or aid other team members

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Work experience in a Securities Middle Office, Trade Settlement, Cash Payment functions, trade support for 10+ years
  • Experience of playing a leading role in a team providing task supervision, support and training to more junior members
  • Control/Reconciliation or Prime brokerage operations experience would be a desirable · Equities Industry and market knowledge would be an advantage
