Responsibilities And Qualifications

Goldman Sachs is seeking an analyst/associate to join the Private Markets Investing and Lending (PMIL) team within the Global Banking and Markets division. The PMIL team in Bangalore is an asset management platform that works closely with the broader US Fund Finance team, specializing in Private Equity and Private Credit markets. The team is responsible for managing risks of the lending portfolio, directing and facilitating due diligence at both deal and asset levels. The primary role for risk management includes collateral analysis and portfolio management including continued monitoring of private credit and equity investments across various debt facilities.
Responsibilities
- Work with the PMIL desk on various stages of potential investment opportunities
- Analyze the credit quality of structured transactions and provide a view on the underlying performance, and potential risks & challenges in the future on existing and live trades
- Decoding financing facility’s legal documents and formulating/ assisting the statements into meaningful Excel Models
- General portfolio management of corporate debt and equity investments, with a focus on middle market lending across all industries
- Prepare asset summary reports for underlying assets and present asset-level diligence to senior management
- Evaluate assets via investment memo review, industry research, financial statement review, financial modeling, etc.
- Management and reconciliation of data, including asset data setup, database management, and client data validation while working with multiple teams
- Maintaining client and stakeholder relationships
- Involvement in project initiatives relating to the PMIL business, including enhancing and developing system architecture that supports the function
- Deliver on ad hoc or special business project as directed by senior management
Qualifications
- Bachelor/ Master’s degree in finance with proficiency in financial analysis
- Understanding of accounting systems, principles, practices and procedures
- Knowledge of Leveraged Lending market
- Proficiency in MS Office with strong Excel skills
- Strong analytical/logical mindset
- Ability to summarize detailed information with attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize workload amidst multiple tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Team-oriented and self-motivated with a desire to learn new business/ processes
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with tight time constraint and extended hours
