At Goldman Sachs, our Global Banking & Markets division helps our clients buy and sell financial products on exchanges around the world, raise funding, and manage risk. We are seeking a high-energy, intellectually curious professional to join our APAC Convertible Bonds desk. In this role, you will be at the center of market activity, providing liquidity and sophisticated execution services to our global institutional client base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Making & Liquidity Provision: Drive market-making activities across the APAC Convertible Bond universe, providing competitive pricing and managing risk inventory to facilitate client flow.
- Client Franchise Excellence: Lead with a service mindset to manage day-to-day institutional client requests, ensuring Goldman Sachs remains a top-tier partner for convertible bond execution.
- Strategic Analysis: Synthesize market drivers, cross-asset implications, and macro trends to generate actionable trade ideas and provide differentiated market color to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Risk Management & Integrity: Adhere strictly to the firm’s rigorous risk management frameworks and regulatory requirements, ensuring all trading activity is conducted with the highest ethical standards.
- Collaborative Partnership: Work seamlessly across Sales, Research, and Engineering teams to "deliver the firm," sharing knowledge and ideas that contribute to the collective success of the APAC franchise.
- Post-Trade Oversight: Oversee the end-to-end transaction lifecycle, ensuring seamless execution and compliance from trade entry to settlement.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Relevant Experience: Proven track record within a sell-side or buy-side Convertible Bonds trading environment, with a deep understanding of the APAC market landscape.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong grasp of the fundamental and technical drivers of convertible securities, including Greeks, credit spreads, and equity volatility.
- Quantitative Aptitude: Proficiency in market terminology and quantitative frameworks; ability to leverage data to explain complex market movements.
- Execution Focus: Highly resilient under pressure with a "do-er" mentality, capable of making rapid, informed decisions in a fast-paced trading floor environment.
- Communication & Impact: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex market views to sophisticated clients and senior management.
- Operational Excellence: Meticulous attention to detail regarding trade booking, P&L reconciliation, and transaction lifecycle costs.
- Academic Excellence: A strong academic record, typically in a quantitative or finance-related field, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and continuous learning.
- Team Orientation: A proactive, self-directed team player who thrives in a collaborative, meritocratic culture.
