Our division works on some of the most complex financial challenges and transactions in the market today. Whether advising on a merger, providing financial solutions for an acquisition, or structuring an initial public offering, we handle projects that help clients at major milestones. We work with corporations, pension funds, financial sponsors, and governments and are team of strong analytical thinkers, who have a passion for producing out-of-the-box ideas.
The Capital Solutions Group within Global Banking & Markets is looking for an Associate to join the Project Infrastructure and Principal Finance (“PIP”) team. PIP is a diverse and global business that brings together broad capabilities across financing, underwriting, capital raising, risk management and advisory to provide holistic solutions to our clients across infrastructure and energy asset clases. The group works closely with classic investment banking, trading and other product groups to originate and execute structured finance transactions.
Responsibilities
The Associate role in PIP combines many of the features of classic investment banking, principal investing and sales and trading. Associates leverage existing modeling and client relationship skills and develop new business generation skills. They are integral members of our nimble, dynamic project teams and will be actively involved in managing transaction processes, leading Analysts, developing models and analyses, preparing internal and external presentations, and working across different coverage and product teams on a variety of projects simultaneously. Associates have opportunities to engage with clients, get exposure to GS leadership and develop significant product knowledge while building a broad skill set in a short period of time.
Associates will work closely with senior bankers in preparing written and oral presentations, running asset and financing analyses, developing credit information for internal approval processes, ratings agencies and investors, reviewing legal and other offering documents, and assisting in the valuation and financing associated with M&A, LBO, construction financing and asset sale transactions.
Expertise and Skills:
Basic Qualifications
· Candidate must have completed an undergraduate degree and be available to start immediately (subject to any notice period required by their current employer, if applicable)
· 2 years of relevant experience in Investment Banking / M&A, Structured Finance, Securitization, ABS, or Asset Backed Finance
Preferred Qualifications / Qualities
· Strong modeling and financial analysis expertise
· Experience of working on complex, structured transactions
· Ability to form independent judgments and move transactions forward
· Self-starter with an entrepreneurial attitude
· Strong analytical and quantitative skills
· Good presentation / communication skills with ability to effectively interact with groups across divisions (e.g., traders, sales, investment bankers)
· Ability to balance multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
· Demonstrate strong attention to detail
· Drive and enthusiasm with a team orientation

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this Los Angeles, California, United States-based position is $150000-$300000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
