AWM Operations are responsible for front-to-back operational support to the Goldman Sachs Asset Management business in service, delivery, and processing functions across the trade, client, and product lifecycle. Goldman Sachs Asset Management provides global investment opportunities to a substantial and diversified client base including institutions, governments and high net worth individuals. Fund Reporting Team, part of Client Reporting team in Tokyo within AM Reporting Ops, plays a crucial role in supporting Goldman Sachs Asset Management's business in Japan. The team is primarily responsible for leading all reporting operations related to investment trusts offered in Japan, creating and distributing various reports accurately and timely to distributors and other stakeholders. This function covers a wide range of investment trust products and requires close collaboration with the business team and portfolio management team. As part of the team's strategy, the team strives to provide systematic solutions for reporting needs, aiming to deliver the highest standard of client experience through promoting automation and strengthening associated risk management frameworks.

The primary responsibility includes:

  • Deeply understand investment trust products, reporting requirements for distributors and investors, deliverables, and related infrastructure. Accurately interpret and identify reporting requirements from business discussions.
  • Execute the creation, review, and finalization of various reports for Japanese investment trusts, manage their publication on the website, and ensure accurate and timely distribution to distributors. Also, respond to data requests from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze data sources, calculation logic, and workflows to propose improvements for report creation processes. Utilize internal automation tools to build an efficient and scalable reporting system and promote automation for bespoke requirements.
  • Contribute to maintaining governance and transparency for fund reporting deliverables, ensuring data consistency and reporting accuracy. Proactively identify and assist in resolving operational issues or concerns.
  • Collaborate closely with relevant internal teams such as Portfolio Management, Compliance, and Sales to facilitate smooth reporting operations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fund reporting operations at an asset management company.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial products, financial terms, and finance in general, as well as knowledge of portfolio analysis.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, at a level where functions can be appropriately utilized.
  • Knowledge of TSTAR.
  • Ability to efficiently process large volumes of data, filtering, combining, and extracting for specific reporting needs.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to provide practical solutions within tight deadlines under pressure, and to efficiently manage multiple tasks.
  • Willingness and ability to actively adopt and adapt to new systems and processes.
  • High awareness of risk management.
  • High collaboration, team-oriented mindset, and demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Native Japanese, Basic English proficiency

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fluent in English
  • Advanced knowledge and skillset of portfolio analysis.
  • Experience with low-code platforms, BI tools, or AI application is a plus.
