With the continued high rate of change in the regulatory reporting space, Regulatory Operations professionals have the platform to significantly impact their environment and the wider business.

YOUR IMPACT

The Asia Regulatory Transaction Reporting team is looking for an experienced professional to lead transaction reporting across Japan and other Asia jurisdictions. In this role, you will work closely with Business, Compliance, Legal, Engineering, and Operations partners to solve complex problems and deliver practical, well-controlled solutions.

Operations plays a central role in supporting the firm’s businesses, helping teams execute effectively while maintaining strong risk management, controls, and asset protection.

Asia Regulatory Transaction Reporting sits at the intersection of regulation, data, products, and technology, with responsibility for reporting obligations across multiple jurisdictions, regulators, exchanges, and asset classes supporting Global Banking and Markets trading activity

As the function continues to evolve, the team is advancing its transformation agenda through greater use of data, automation, and emerging AI capabilities to enhance scalability, controls, and operational effectiveness.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

  • Take ownership of transaction reporting across Japan and other Asia jurisdictions, with support from experienced regional and global partners.
  • Partner with Business, Compliance, Legal, Engineering, and Operations teams to understand regulatory requirements and turn them into practical solutions.
  • Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, regulators, and industry groups through clear communication and thoughtful follow-through.
  • Contribute to regulatory change, new business initiatives, system enhancements, issue remediation, and control improvements.
  • Coach and develop team members while helping create an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing team environment.

SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Strong communication, collaboration, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Curiosity, sound judgment, and a problem-solving mindset, with an interest in regulation, markets, data, and technology.
  • Ability to break down complex requirements and work with others to deliver clear, sustainable solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Japanese and English.
  • A self-motivated, team-oriented approach with ownership, accountability, prioritization, and coaching skills.
  • Experience managing and leading teams

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the financial industry, ideally including regulatory reporting, operations, compliance, or related control functions.
  • Experience working with financial products, data, operating processes, regulatory requirements, or change initiatives.
  • Advanced professional proficiency in Japanese and English.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with transaction reporting requirements or regulatory frameworks across Asia.
  • Experience engaging with regulators, exchanges, or industry working groups.
  • Experience contributing to regulatory, operational, or technology change initiatives from requirements through implementation.
  • Interest in trade flows, reporting logic, system architecture, with a passion for leveraging data, automation, low-code, and emerging AI capabilities to accelerate the team's transformation journey and drive improvements in reporting processes and controls.
