Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in VLSI, Computer Engineering, or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in block level synthesis, floor-planning, place and route, CTS, timing closure, and power analysis.
  • Experience in Python or Tcl.
  • Experience in Cadence/Synopsys Physical Design tool suite.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in VLSI, Computer Engineering, or Electronics Engineering.
  • Experience doing multi-mode multi-corner timing/power analysis using industry standard tools.
  • Experience with timing ECO flows.
  • Experience with timing convergence and sign-off flows.
  • Experience in extraction of ASIC design parameters, generating QOR metrics, and analyzing PPA trends.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

As a Physical Design/CAD Engineer, you will augment Power, Performance, and Area (PPA) of Digital Circuit IPs used in Google silicon products. You will work with the Silicon Implementation, Design Methodology, and Circuit Design teams to improve PPA of Google silicon.

Responsibilities

  • Synthesize, perform physical design, and implement compute (e.g., CPU, GPU, Tensor) cores.
  • Analyze results and provide feedback to improve PPA of various compute cores.
  • Analyze PPA of various compute cores using foundational IPs from different vendors.
  • Evaluate integration challenges associated with various compute cores and provide feedback to vendors.
  • Evaluate process design kits from various vendors.
