Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
- Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
- Experience in Google Ad Manager and the video ads ecosystem.
Preferred qualifications:
- Understanding of video business generation strategies within the media and entertainment industry, and the Video and the TV industry.
- Knowledge of programmatic advertising and platforms like Google Ad Manager.
- Skilled at using data to identify trends and opportunities, and optimizing business generation strategies.
- Proven success in building and managing strong partner relationships to drive sales.
- Thrives in collaborative environments and adapts to the fast-paced industry.
- Comfortable with technology and effective communication with technical stakeholders.
About the job
As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you'll open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory discussions and evaluate/develop business opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide thought leadership and serve as a mentor to managers and associates. You are comfortable escalating and presenting business development strategies and key issues to senior management. You'll work closely with Google Product, Developers, Legal and Sales teams on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships that support our online advertising business.
The Canada Sellside team works with Canada’s largest media companies to help them transform and grow their digital products and business. With a specific focus on Google's Sellside Business Generation platforms (Google Ad Manager, AdMob, AdSense), we advise on our partners' programmatic media business and support their broader partnership across relevant Google products.
As part of this team you will be responsible for leading business and business generation for our largest Video partners. You'll leverage your entrepreneurial drive to draft compelling narratives that educate our partners about Google's latest advertising products and technologies. You will provide Google-caliber client service, research and market analysis, and know our clients’ business goals and strategies inside and out. You'll anticipate how decisions are made and persistently explore and uncover the business needs of our key clients. Working with them, you set the vision and the strategy for how to maximize ad business.
The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with web/app partners. Collaborate closely with partner account owners at all levels of seniority to foster long-term partnerships and drive growth.
- Identify new inventory opportunities, expand the use of business generation products, optimize yield for partners, and contribute to strategic direction.
- Analyze performance data, present findings, and influence strategies by providing insights and recommendations. Leverage deep expertise in programmatic advertising and Google Ad Manager to optimize usage/configure settings to align with partner goals.
- Collaborate with partners and internal teams to diagnose and resolve technical issues affecting ad delivery, performance, or business generation. Provide specialized support on implementation, inquiries, and broader business strategies.
- Lead cross-functional efforts with technical support, analytics, and account teams to deliver exceptional client service. Project manage time-sensitive escalations related to performance, product issues, etc.
