Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cyber-security, or related fields.
  • 1 year of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in roles related to business analysis, statistical analysis and Machine Learning.
  • Ability to solve unstructured business problems in fraud investigations and a risk management space.
  • Excellent process/project management, prioritization, analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills, with the ability to process data to drive business strategies and decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to multiple cross-regional and cross-functional stakeholders.

About the job

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

The Trust and Safety team has the responsibility of protecting Google's users by ensuring online safety by fighting web abuse and fraud across Google products like Search and AdSense.

In this role, you will partner with the Engineering, Product, Legal, Policy, and Scaled Operations teams to drive operational performance and lower abuse rates. You will enable effectiveness and efficiency by driving strategic intent and execution to deliver cross-functional initiatives at scale and handle abuse and fraud cases. You will also review graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive content during the course of the role in line with Google's policies.

We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A diverse team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

Responsibilities

  • Work with unstructured data sets to get insights and develop solutions for scalable enforcement on non-compliant inventory, conduct data analyses and identify opportunities/sources for new signals, automation, and workflow improvements, and drive the utilization of these new signals to completion.
  • Build and evaluate models that automate decision-making or generate leads for content review teams.
  • Identify automation and efficiency opportunities, drive solutions through analysis, or cross-functional partnership.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and other enforcement teams within Trust and Safety to push for policy changes and resolve product vulnerabilities.
  • Drive strategy and team focus on using data mining and analysis techniques to provide insights on abuse and operational trends.
