Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.
  • Ability to communicate in Korean and English fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD.
  • Experience managing complex, end-to-end partnerships.
  • Experience working autonomously in a dynamic, ever-changing, and collaborative environment.
  • Ability to identify potential business opportunities, assess financial/business benefit, structure agreements, and discuss terms with strategic partners.
  • Strong analytical skills, including ability to analyze performance data, iterate to optimize promotion targeting and return, and synthesize large amounts of data (i.e. performance data, market data) to drive towards actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

About the job

Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate the complex and fragmented payment landscape in the market and identify opportunities to increase Google Play spend and payment adoption.
  • Discuss and secure commercial agreements and develop a co-marketing program with local partners.
  • Develop and implement promotional strategies with various payment partners to increase Google Play transactions.
  • Manage both integrator and retailer relationships to grow the gift card business.
  • Analyze data across user spend, FOP, product, promotion type, and other variables to optimize performance.
