About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Our goal is to build a Google that looks like the world around us — and we want Googlers to stay and grow when they join us. As part of our efforts to build a Google for everyone, we build diversity, equity, and inclusion into our work and we aim to cultivate a sense of belonging throughout the company.

In this role, you will lead the Contract Manufacturing Production Engineering team on all aspects of the assembly process from sequence and method of putting components into the system, fixture and equipment design, and qualification. You will lead a team of professionals to ensure products are designed and built to high standards. You will work in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment, as you work with teams to solve problems that gate production line operations.

Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. Our Devices & Services team combines the best of Google AI, Software, and Hardware to create radically helpful experiences for users. We research, design, and develop new technologies and hardware to make our user's interaction with computing faster, seamless, and more powerful. Whether finding new ways to capture and sense the world around us, advancing form factors, or improving interaction methods, the Devices & Services team is making people's lives better through technology.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, prioritize, and manage key technical changes and risks of Pixel phones to ensure all technical risks associated with a product are identified and closed or mitigated to enable the quality ramp of a product.
  • Drive manufacturing yield improvements, failure analysis, cycle time optimization, line balancing, assembly automation deployment, and product repairability.
  • Build and manage assembly automation with vision systems to enable high quality production with optimal cost structure.
