What You Will Do:
The Guidehouse Internship Program staffs interns on real world projects, showcasing the Guidehouse culture, and providing them with a meaningful consulting experience. Interns work with teams and provide real time deliverables in support of the clients. Each Intern is paired with a Buddy to serve as a resource that can assist them in navigating their Guidehouse experience.
Highlights of our Internship Program include:
10-week experience in Summer 2026 (Anticipated to start Monday, June 8 and run until Friday, August 14)
Learning & Development Sessions (both E-learning & Instructor Lead)
Mid-Point and Final Evaluations
Networking & Social Activities and Events
Collaborative Group Projects
Our IT Interns play an important role in helping teams strengthen their technology operations, improve system performance, enhance transparency, and streamline internal processes. Throughout your internship, you will support projects that address real‑world IT challenges and contribute to meaningful improvements across the organization.
You’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of technology initiatives—ranging from system enhancements and data analysis to process optimization and troubleshooting. Our work environment is collaborative and dynamic, and we look for self‑motivated individuals who are comfortable learning new tools, exploring solutions independently, or contributing as part of a high‑performing team. During your project experience, you may interact with managers and technical leads, giving you the chance to develop your skills in areas such as technical problem‑solving, project coordination, communication, and professional development.
Throughout the internship, you’ll work closely with internal IT teams on assigned tasks or project work, meet with leaders to reflect on your growth, and participate in social and networking activities with fellow interns.
As an Intern in IT your responsibilities may include:
Support and contribute to enterprise‑wide IT projects, ensuring tasks are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals.
Assist with information protection and security operations, including data sharing monitoring, sensitive information classification, and issue triage.
Engage directly with employees to troubleshoot technology and security issues, escalating or resolving efficiently with guidance from IT and Security teams.
Apply analytical and technical skills to identify opportunities for process improvement, innovation, and enhanced performance across IT systems.
Collaborate with cross‑functional IT, security, and business teams to support operational continuity and technology modernization initiatives.
Build foundational experience in IT governance, cybersecurity, enterprise systems, and service delivery within a consulting‑oriented environment.
What You Will Need:
Minimum Years of Experience: 0 years
Minimum Degree Status: Bachelor's Degree (Must still be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate degree program through Fall 2026 and graduate by Summer 2027)
Ability to adhere to on-site work schedules in the DMV metro area as directed.
Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship now or anytime in the future; Students possessing F-1 or J-1 visas are excluded from interview schedules or being hired for this position.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust, Secret, or higher level of federal/government security clearance (US Citizenship is one of the requirements for security clearance).
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Degree concentration in Management/Information Systems, Business Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Health Information Technology, or related STEM majors is preferred
Understanding of basic IT and cybersecurity concepts (like risk management, IT audit, or comparable domain) and genuine interest in enterprise system
Strong time and project management skills.
Cybersecurity certifications (Security+, CISA, CISSP, CEH)
Experience with managing/supporting and/or knowledge of cybersecurity or high value asset program.
Experience supporting or familiarity with cybersecurity practices or high‑value asset protection programs.
Strong organizational, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information responsibly
Curiosity and willingness to learn in a fast‑paced technical environment
