What You Will Do:
The Archibus Database Engineer (DBE) will work as part of a team supporting data analysis, management, processing, and automation for a Security & Installations/Infrastructure office within the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). The DBE position will be responsible for translating business and IT requirements into robust data architectures primarily within Archibus and leading the front end of the lifecycle-requirements through system acceptance testing and Initial Operational Capability (IOC). Additionally, this position is part of Guidehouse's broader AI & Data horizontal team, offering reach back and connectivity to firm-wide network of data practitioners. Additional, specific duties include:
Leads the IWMS team as Technical Program Manager, overseeing service delivery, system maintenance, enhancements, and overall program performance throughout the system lifecycle.
Provide technical expertise for Archibus database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow, and analysis.
Develop relational and/or Object-Oriented databases for Archibus, including database parser software, and database loading software.
Project long-range requirements for Archibus database administration and design. Responsible for developing a database structure that fits into the overall architecture of the Archibus system and under development and has to make necessary trades-offs among data volumes, number of users, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security, and domain controls.
Develops requirements from a project’s inception to its conclusion for Archibus implementations, addressing specific business and IT subject matter area (i.e., simple to complex systems).
Assist with recommendations for and analysis and evaluation of Archibus system improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts.
Translate a set of requirements and data into a usable document for Archibus by creating or recreating ad hoc queries, scripts, and macros; updates existing queries, creates new ones to manipulate data into a master file; and builds complex Archibus systems using queries, tables, Open Database Connectivity (ODBC), and database storage and retrieval using Cloud methodologies where applicable. Manages Archibus project timelines and resources.
Oversees Archibus database administration, ensuring performance, security, and 95% availability.
Leads the design, development, and implementation of Archibus modules and integrations, including data ingestion/extraction between Archibus and other systems.
Develops and maintains physical and logical database models for Archibus, implementing data archiving policies and procedures.
Diagnoses and resolves Archibus database and software errors, generates reports and dashboards, and contributes to SSP development and maintenance.
Manages Archibus software and database lifecycles, including upgrades, patches, and version control.
Publishes CAD/BIM graphics to Archibus.
Uses agile methodologies for Archibus project management and maintains Archibus hardware and software inventory.
Gathers stakeholder requirements for Archibus implementations and translates them into technical specifications. Develops and maintains comprehensive Archibus documentation (SOPs, manuals, etc.).
Offers ad-hoc training and support on Archibus system and data management best practices.
What You Will Need:
An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "TOP SECRET/SCI (TS/SCI)" Federal or DoD security clearance.
o Once onboard with Guidehouse, new hire MUST be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN TS/SCI Federal or DoD security clearance with a (COUNTERINTELLIGENCE (CI) polygraph.FIVE (5) or more years of experience as a database engineer
Advanced SQL programming skills for data manipulation, report generation, and performance tuning within Archibus.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
Expert-level knowledge of Archibus system architecture, configuration, and administration.
Extensive experience managing and optimizing Archibus deployments in complex enterprise environments.
Comprehensive knowledge of Archibus data structures, including tables, relationships, and data dictionary.
Proven experience integrating Archibus with other enterprise systems using APIs, web services, and ETL tools.
Strong proficiency in web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML, JSON) and web server administration (e.g., Tomcat, JBoss).
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automating Archibus tasks and processes.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex Archibus projects, including requirements gathering, system design, and implementation.
Proven problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
Experience mentoring and training junior team members on Archibus best practices.
Experience with Archibus data archiving policies and procedures.
Experience with Archibus-specific tools (Database Upgrade Wizard, Schema Change Wizard, Eclipse).
Experience with Archibus system upgrades, patching, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Relevant Archibus certifications (or CAFM/IWMS equivalent).
Experience with Agile methodologies (Kanban, Scrum) and tools (Confluence, Jira).
Experience with modifying CAD and BIM files.
Experience with Geographic Information System (GIS)-based platform integration
