Scope

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager, IT to lead our Centralized Invoicing team at Houlihan Lokey. This position will report into the Director of IT Portfolio and Financial Management. This individual should be highly organized with excellent leadership skills who can manage a team and drive continuous improvement of all invoicing processes and protocols. This person will be responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely processing of all Technology invoices and accruals, ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations, and managing relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors. The Manager of the Centralized Invoicing team will be a key partner in optimizing financial operations and driving improvements in efficiency and controls within the Technology and Finance departments. This is a remote opportunity.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of accounts payable professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.

  • Provide guidance and training to ensure team members are equipped to perform at their best.

  • Build upon existing processes to increase team productivity, performance tracking, and professional development.

Invoicing and Accrual Oversight:

  • Oversee the end-to-end process, including invoice receipt, coding, and approval.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal departments (e.g., procurement, legal, operations) and external vendors.

Financial Reporting & Compliance:

  • Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard the company’s financial resources, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations, GAAP, and other relevant accounting standards.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, policies, and internal controls.

  • Manage the preparation and review of invoicing and accrual reports, providing insights and recommendations to department management.

  • Partner with accounts payable and ensure proper documentation and support for financial audits.

Process Improvement & Efficiency:

  • Drive continuous improvement in the invoicing and accrual function, identifying opportunities for automation and streamlining processes.

  • Develop and implement best practices for the department, ensuring alignment with the bank’s overall financial goals.

Collaboration & Reporting:

  • Work closely with accounts payable to ensure smooth payment processes and accurate reporting.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute strategies for managing the company’s liabilities and cash flow efficiently.

  • Prepare regular reports on invoice and accrual activities, including aged payables, and other KPIs, providing insight to senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in accounts payable or finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a complex organization, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale accounts payable operations.

  • In-depth knowledge of financial accounting principles (GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and regulatory requirements specific to the investment banking or financial sector.

  • Strong understanding of accounts payable systems, processes, and workflows.

  • Experience managing the technology lifecycle, including implementation, optimization, and transition, within technology-driven or technology-adjacent environments.

  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or other financial systems) and automation tools.

  • Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to build and manage high-performing teams.

  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with other departments and external partners.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and implement improvements to existing processes.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience with automation tools and initiatives to optimize the invoicing process.

  • Familiarity with the financial regulations specific to investment banking and financial institutions.

  • Prior experience within a publicly traded company, particularly in the financial services or investment banking industry.

Compensation and Benefits

Houlihan Lokey is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive total compensation package, which may include other components such as discretionary incentive compensation. The firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible salary range for this role at the time of posting is:

$140,000.00-$160,000.00

Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills, and experience and the location where this position may be filled.
