Scope
As an Interim Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer at Houlihan Lokey, you will serve as the technical expert and escalation point for our enterprise Microsoft 365 environment during the engagement. Your deep expertise in PowerShell scripting, Microsoft Graph API, SharePoint Online, and MS Teams will be essential in maintaining operational excellence and resolving complex technical challenges that require advanced skill sets.
In this interim role, you will step into an established M365 ecosystem, quickly assess current configurations, and serve as the senior technical resource for escalated issues while implementing improvements and supporting ongoing operations. This position requires an experienced professional who can rapidly understand existing systems, handle the most challenging technical problems, and provide expert-level support to the existing team during this transitional period.

Responsibilities
- Maintain and optimize the existing Microsoft 365 environment, ensuring consistent high availability and performance
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex M365 technical issues requiring expert-level resolution
- Provide advanced PowerShell scripting and automation solutions for complex operational requirements
- Handle escalated SharePoint Online issues, including complex permissions, integrations, and architectural challenges
- Resolve advanced MS Teams configuration and governance issues that require deep technical expertise
- Implement Microsoft Graph API solutions for system integrations and complex automation requirements
- Troubleshoot and resolve M365 service issues, providing resolution and root cause analysis
- Maintain and configure advanced security and compliance settings across all M365 workloads
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members on complex technical matters
- Document complex solutions, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures for knowledge continuity
- Support escalated requests from business users requiring advanced technical intervention
- Collaborate with internal teams as the senior technical resource for M365-related projects and initiatives
Basic Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in enterprise IT, with at least 5 years specializing in Microsoft 365 engineering and administration
- Expert-level proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation, with ability to quickly create and modify complex scripts
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Graph API
- Knowledge of SharePoint Online administration, configuration, and complex troubleshooting
- Comprehensive understanding of MS Teams administration, governance, and advanced problem resolution
- Solid experience with Microsoft 365 security and compliance features
- Proven ability to serve as a technical escalation point and resolve complex technical challenges
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as a senior technical resource in a contract environment
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience
- Microsoft Certified: Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert or related M365 certifications
- Experience in financial services or regulated industry environments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Power Platform solutions
- Experience with Microsoft Intune Endpoint Management
- Previous contract experience serving as senior technical expert or escalation resource
- Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and hybrid identity solutions
- Experience with complex problem resolution and technical documentation practices
