Financial Restructuring

Houlihan Lokey has the largest worldwide financial restructuring practice of any investment banking firm, with offices and experienced professionals located across the globe. Since its inception in 1988, the restructuring group has advised on more than 1,900 restructuring transactions with aggregate debt claims in excess of $4 trillion. With nearly 300 dedicated restructuring professionals worldwide, our group has a significant global presence. We serve clients domestically and around the world, providing extensive resources to staff each case. Our broad base of clients and extensive experience allow us to understand the dynamics of each restructuring situation and the needs, attitudes, and positions of all parties in interest.



The São Paulo office is expanding, and we are looking for a Financial Analyst to be based in our office. Financial Analysts work assisting with a variety of transactions, including creditor- and debtor-side restructurings, regular and distressed mergers & acquisitions and capital raising.

Responsibilities:

• Develop financial models and analyze financial statements, industry developments, acquisitions and divestitures, and various investment attributes of publicly traded and privately held companies
• Work closely with talented, experienced, dedicated professionals, including senior officers, who will give you broad exposure to a wide range of industries and highly complex transactions
• Assist in the preparation of materials for clients, conduct market, industry and company analyses
• Actively be involved in transaction-oriented work for our clients, including buyer, sellers & managers of portfolios across a broad range of financial assets
• Participating in complex negotiations on behalf of our clients

Requirements/Qualifications

• Have a strong academic Quantitative background in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Law or related courses
• Ideally at least 12 months of analyst experience in Investment Banking (M&A, Private Funds Advisory or Debt/Equity Advisory) or related areas

• Fundamental understanding of valuation theory, methodologies and applications, accounting and finance
• Understanding of financial statements analysis with the ability to work through key assumptions, implicit caveats, and limitations

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Portuguese
• Spanish language skills will be deemed favourable but are not essential
• Independent thinker and resourceful problem solver driven to succeed
• Strong work ethic, organizational skills and ability to multitask is crucial
