Job Description

Location: Hyderabad
Global Business Services - SOX
As a part of the SOX team, you play a critical role in serving as the second line of defense by ensuring robust control design and effective oversight. Your responsibilities include evaluating existing controls, identifying potential gaps, and managing deficiencies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. By maintaining a strong focus on risk mitigation and process improvement, you contribute to the overall integrity and reliability of financial reporting.
Your Responsibilities
Performing walkthroughs to gain an in-depth understanding of business and finance processes to assess the effectiveness of the processes and controls Revision of Risk control matrix (RCM), Process flow diagrams (PFD) according to design assessments and current practices adopted by the Finance teams. Performing impact analyses for identified deficiencies and formulating recommendations to mitigate the deficiencies thereby improving the control environment Partnering with various stakeholders in standardization, ensuring consistent methodologies, policies and alignment of resources with respect to audits and controls. Coordinating and liasoning with team of statutory auditors for SOX testing Fair understanding of SOC 1 reports and Entity level controls [ELCs] Working with the management on research and identification of emerging industry risks for comprehensive SOX scoping. Identifies continuous improvement opportunities and escalates to the Manager Documents desktop procedures and ensures procedures are continuously updated to reflect current practices and policies Delivers work product in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) Participates in special projects under the direction of the Director of GBS Hyderabad or SOX Management Clearly sets team priorities, communicates compelling rationale, and allocates proper time and resources to ensure client/internal business partner needs are met. Turns business priorities into actionable plans and communicates Sets clear, measurable and challenging goals that are aligned with overall Finance goals. Promptly addresses gaps in performance and team conflicts. Recruit, develop and retain top talent. Recognize and celebrate achievements
Your Competencies
Knowledge and understanding of SOX framework and risk management practices; understanding of internal control elements; strong problem solving and analytical skills; good interpersonal skills; ability to manage deliverables; good written and oral communication skills; highly organized; ability to meet strict deadlines; excellent customer service skills; ability to plan, assign, and direct work; ability to multi-task; Good PC skills, including word, excel, Visio
5 To 8 years of experience in Audit engagements, specifically in the SOX process; Experience with accounting and financial systems, preferably Oracle and BWise

Education & Certifications
A Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Business is required with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance preferred. Knowledge of Financial Services Industry preferred
Certified Public Accountancy or Chartered Accountancy a plus
Shift Timings
Work hours will be from 12:30 PM to 9:30 PM IST (01:30 PM to 10:30PM IST) and may include late hours and/or weekend support – during close.
