Job Description
Summary
The Specialist position offers an opportunity to work closely with investment teams. The Specialist is responsible for assessing business intelligence and operations directly supporting the global trading and portfolio management process. This role will report to the Regional Front Office Operations (FOO) Manager. This position is fixed term for 12 to 18 months.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
Under direct supervision, Specialist will support one or more of the five practices of FOO, which include (1) Investment Platform Management, (2) Portfolio Monitoring, (3) Trade Implementation, (4) Client and Product Lifecycle, and (5) Regulatory and Policy Implementation.
- Input trades and process transactions as allocated by front office teams
- Effectively communicate with investments, trading team, front office teams, technology, investment services team, and other users to resolve issues and escalate problems
- Produce, validate, and analyze reports/information needed by front office teams globally
- Reconcile, investigate, and resolve discrepancies at the transaction, position, and security level in various front office applications
- Create reports, presentations, documents, data modeling, and data representation for various business needs as required by front office operations, global trading, and investment teams
- Manage cash balances and currency exposures according to portfolio manager targets
- Basic knowledge of operations and end-to-end workflows across the asset classes
- Ability to assist with front office operational issues
- Accurately process all the BAU requests and client instructions/ requests within the established time frames
- Support and assist with the onboarding of country markets for products and funds
- Transaction processing and ad-hoc tasks as allocated by front office teams
- Follow documentation, identify gaps in processes, and escalate accordingly
- Expect to work with stakeholders located in global offices in NA, APAC, & EMEA.
Education
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, Management, and Mathematics.
Work Experience/Knowledge/competencies
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Investment banking/management industry is preferred
- Solid understanding of various asset classes (Fixed-Income, Equity, ETFs, SMAs)
- Knowledge of investment business, buy-side processes, and investment products
- Experience in front office applications is preferred (Aladdin, CRD, Bloomberg)
- Aptitude for rapid adaptation to new systems/software
- Skilled in Microsoft Office applications; experience and ability to write and create macros and cohesive documentation
- Ability to plan, develop and implement strategic initiatives and marketing campaigns
- Demonstrable experience in analysis and creative problem solving
- Proven strong project management skills.

Working Conditions:
- Normally works a prescribed schedule of hours; however, hours may vary depending upon the project or assignment
- Hours may include evenings and/or weekends and may have to work in shifts supporting various geographies based on project & business needs.
