Job Overview
Jensen Hughes is seeking a detail-oriented IT Asset Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the company's IT assets, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure. This role requires a strong understanding of IT asset management principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments. The IT Asset Manager will ensure that all IT assets are properly accounted for, maintained, and utilized efficiently. This includes tracking asset lifecycles, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with licensing agreements. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and implementing asset management policies and procedures, conducting regular audits, and providing reports to senior management. The IT Asset Manager will report to the Service Desk Team Lead and work closely with the IT and Information Security departments to support the deployment and maintenance of IT assets, troubleshoot issues, and provide training to staff in asset management best practices. This role is critical to ensure the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure and support the overall goals of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the company's IT assets, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
- Track and maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets.
- Develop and implement IT asset management policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular audits of IT assets to ensure compliance with company policies and licensing agreements.
- Coordinate with the IT department to support the deployment and maintenance of IT assets.
- Ensure proper disposal of obsolete or damaged IT assets.
- Provide training to staff on IT asset management best practices.
- Generate and present reports on IT asset status and utilization to senior management.
- Monitor and manage IT asset lifecycles, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and retirement.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their IT asset needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to IT asset management.
- Manage software licensing and ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
- Maintain documentation related to IT asset management processes and procedures.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting for IT asset needs.
- Work with vendors and suppliers to procure IT assets and services.
- Implement and manage IT asset tracking systems and tools.
- Ensure data security and privacy related to IT assets.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in IT asset management.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning related to IT assets.
Requirements and Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in IT asset management or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of IT asset management principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in using IT asset management software and tools.
- Knowledge of software licensing and compliance requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience with IT procurement and vendor management.
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure and network components.
- Ability to conduct audits and generate reports.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to IT asset management.
- Ability to provide training and support to staff.
- Experience with data security and privacy practices.
- Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn new technologies.
