Weare seeking a Director, Ward Infinity Program who will help to develop strategies and manages activities to efficiently and effectively achieve strategic objectives. This role serves as a member of the project leadership team to support and manage the team and implement appropriate financial management controls. The Deputy Project Director Manager is responsible for managing the Ward Infinity Program, a DC-based multi-sector accelerator program, pioneered by Johns Hopkins University & Medicine, that leverages Johns Hopkins’ expertise, facilities, and resources with established DC-based business programs and initiatives to scale impactful solutions. This position reports to the Director of Economic Impact.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serves as the subject matter expert in knowledge management and administers the project in the Project Director's absence and performs representational activities to donors, partners, other Cooperating Agencies, and key funding committees and working groups.
  • Leads Client Services, including International Programs and Services, Monitoring and Evaluation, and technology management activities
  • Manage a complex project portfolio, including all aspects of compliance and stakeholder coordination
  • Work with leadership to define, develop and prioritize technology projects and manage overall budget complexity
  • Recognize and address factors that might strategically impact a program or the Center, and lead implementation of solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to university and project donor rules, regulations and policies.
  • Lead process of using data to inform strategies, work plans, and project direction.
  • Implement tools, processes and structures to ensure excellence in programs, products, and deliverables to meet program goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional

  • This position requires in-person attendance for staff meetings and other events as needed at the GCE office in Baltimore, Maryland.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's Degree.
  • Ten years of high-level management and representational experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education permitted by the JHU equivalency formula beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong project management experience.
  • Extensive networks in the Washington, DC start-up ecosystem.
  • Five years of work experience with start-up accelerator/incubator programs.
  • Successful track record of raising funds for short- and long-term financial sustainability.
  • Ability to innovate/adapt to accomplish goals within an established budget.
