The Whiting School of Engineering is seeking an Intellectual Property Intern to provide project-based support to the Engineering Design Center by assisting with the completion and finalization of the Intellectual Property (IP) training modules.

The position provides basic administrative and operational support for a specific program within a department. The position supports the planning and daily operations of the program.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide support for outreach activities and internal events; assist with preparation of materials, set-up and breakdown, and participate as needed at events and activities.
  • Assist with data entry, report production, and basic analysis of program results.
  • Assist with development and distribution of program communications.
  • Respond to or elevate questions and provide customer service through email and by phone.
  • Contact service personnel or other resources for program needs.
  • Monitor supply inventory and order supplies.
  • Operate and coordinate the servicing of office equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

In addition to the duties described above

  • Review and edit PowerPoint presentations for accuracy, consistency, formatting, and overall quality.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of audio recordings to ensure clarity, accuracy, and synchronization with presentation content.
  • Identify, document, and implement revisions to instructional materials.
  • Assist with proofreading and finalizing training modules prior to publication.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure all content meets established quality standards and project deadlines.
  • Support the successful completion and delivery of the Intellectual Property (IP) training module project.


Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or graduation equivalent.
  • Six months of related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and other presentation software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a project team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.

Technical Qualifications & Specialized Certifications

  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
