The Whiting School of Engineering is seeking an Intellectual Property Intern to provide project-based support to the Engineering Design Center by assisting with the completion and finalization of the Intellectual Property (IP) training modules.
The position provides basic administrative and operational support for a specific program within a department. The position supports the planning and daily operations of the program.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide support for outreach activities and internal events; assist with preparation of materials, set-up and breakdown, and participate as needed at events and activities.
- Assist with data entry, report production, and basic analysis of program results.
- Assist with development and distribution of program communications.
- Respond to or elevate questions and provide customer service through email and by phone.
- Contact service personnel or other resources for program needs.
- Monitor supply inventory and order supplies.
- Operate and coordinate the servicing of office equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
In addition to the duties described above
- Review and edit PowerPoint presentations for accuracy, consistency, formatting, and overall quality.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of audio recordings to ensure clarity, accuracy, and synchronization with presentation content.
- Identify, document, and implement revisions to instructional materials.
- Assist with proofreading and finalizing training modules prior to publication.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure all content meets established quality standards and project deadlines.
- Support the successful completion and delivery of the Intellectual Property (IP) training module project.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or graduation equivalent.
- Six months of related experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and other presentation software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a project team.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
Technical Qualifications & Specialized Certifications
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
